STAR Wars' The Rise of Skywalker has been praised for featuring the first same sex kiss in its history.

The latest instalment in the Sci-Fi franchise has been subject to a host of reviews from film fanatics detailing the "spectacular" new plotline and one groundbreaking scene in particular in the exciting intergalactic movie.

A sequence in the new film - the ninth of its kind - sees two lesser known female members of the Resistance enjoy a kiss to celebrate during a joyful moment.

You don’t like Midichlorians?

Not Midichlorians, that makes sense to me, no it’s something else called “Whills”.

https://nerdist.com/article/george-lucas-star-wars-sequel-trilogy-whills/

“[The next three Star Wars films] were going to get into a microbiotic world. But there’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force.”

I would have nominated Chris Tucker for the role of “Voice of Chief Whill”.

He puts on a good show. Copacabana is a highlight, along with Mandy.

I saw The Force Awakens when it came out on DVD. My thoughts are the same as they were back then: I gave the movie 6/10. It was fun and entertaining, but basically a soulless cash grab for Disney. All they did is rehash the original trilogy (blow up the death star, Darth Vader type bad guy), there was no story there worth telling.

I have no desire to see The Last Jedi or the newest one coming out this month.

Interesting to see hardcore Star Wars have flip-flopped 180o degrees on Disney Star Wars. Back in 2015 they hailed it as a return to the TRUE Star Wars and 10X better than the CGI-infested prequels with Jar Jar Binks. Now they say JJ Abrams and Disney have "ruined" Star Wars.

To be fair though, just about EVERY Hollywood franchise has sadly gone down this path. They had a gay guy married to a man in the most recent Chucky movie for ummm, reasons.

I haven't seen the latest Alien movie (sounds like Star Wars, just a rehash of the stuff in the older Alien movies) but I did read a "spoiler" that there's a same sex kiss between Michael Fassebender...and himself. Weird.

Yes, I experienced cognitive dissonance after Episode 7 because I wanted it to be good but really it was a pointless rehash and Driver completely lacked credibility as a villain I mean whiny Darth Vader fanboi and another “Death Star”esque superweapon (that’s about 100 times less cool), really? I liked the first Death Star, and I liked the second one up to a point, but come on.

He was considerably better in Episode 8 and I prefer it because at least it trod over SOME new ground.

This is because Geena Davis and the Pink Mafia in Hollywood got a “code” put in several years ago that REQUIRES a certain % of characters be homosexual, and they are constantly beating producers over the head with this. It showed up in the last “Star Trck,” whereupon I immediately turned it off and never finished it.

It showed up in “Brittany Runs a Marathon,” an otherwise decent picture with a good message, but of course (white) Brittany’s sister was married to a black man and of course her running partner is a homosexual.

In movie after movie-—and especially ADS for everything-—white males are being completely excluded. If you were an alien come down to earth, you’d conclude that the USA is 75% black females, 20% Hispanics, and about 50% homosexuals. You would conclude that straight white males were less than 2% of the population. And certainly STRONG, COMPETENT, HANDSOME white men do not exist on planet earth. The only straight white men allowed are nerdy little pencil-necked geeks.

I had the same response to both the “new” Star Wars movies. The tech/CGI is amazing, but where is the real character development? The chick-—don’t even remember her name-—is about as interesting as lint. The black storm trooper is not interesting. Dameron Poe might be interesting, but they don’t let him develop. Most of all, they sapped all INNOCENCE out of these films somehow. I can’t put my finger on it, but they aren’t “fun.”

A lot of that went out with the second trilogy, which I happened to like a lot (except for the goofy little boy) and the mis-cast love interest between Darth and Portman. But I loved the explanation and development of the clones and the betrayal of the Jedi-—it just came too quickly and Skywalker turned way too quickly.

“...I have no desire to see The Last Jedi or the newest one coming out this month. ...”

Yeah, I don’t either, Billy. I just completely lost interest in it.

“...Jar Jar Binks...”

Possibly THE stupidest, worst, most annoying character ever created.

They MUST insert the “normalizing” queer sh*t into everything.

Must keep to the Agenda, after all...

My point about villains is simple: If they look like someone I can walk up to and slap and they curl up in a ball and start sucking their thumb, they’re not villainous material.

That was a big problem with Anakin Skywalker, too. Only Jones’s Vader and McDiarmid’s Palpatine were the believable leading villains (and Jones only had to just use his voice and nothing else !).

Yes, I guess it makes some sense psychologically that a whiny little bitch could turn into Darth Vader but it didn’t make for a very compelling story. A shame Lucas starting getting high off his own farts.

The most interesting part of the second trilogy was the short story that Palpatine told Anakin about Darth Plagueis.

As with most of SW films, Ian McDiarmid was the best thing in the entire franchise. Not that some of the others were bad (the English thespians were all great: Christopher Lee, Alec Guinness, Peter Cushing). But McDiarmid played Palpatine with such relish it was a delight to see his scenes above the rest.

I see the reviews are mixed for this latest “Epidode”, but I will go see it eventually.

The clip of Palpatine & Anakin at the opera is one of the best Star Wars scenes, period.

McDiarmid is also good in both “Gorky Park” and “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”.

Agree. He was excellent. I also liked the Darth Pladueis story.
