These people need to WAKE UP and realize where the REAL THREAT lies, or they’ll be sitting ducks, like this poor girl.
The police union is trying to defend the cops because a report just revealed that this park had the highest crime rate in NY for most of the year, even higher than bigger parks on Brooklyn. All sorts of people are coming forward with stories of being robbed or assaulted by gangs of “youths” just walking by the place.
It’s actually not the cops’ fault, but that of the ridiculous DeBlasio policies, which have decriminalized practically everything and have made it impossible to deal with juveniles, who are now fully aware that they can do whatever they want.
I doubt that she was buying drugs, and they’re just tying to blame the victim. There are tennis courts and playing fields at the foot of the park, as well as a subway station, so there’s lots of reasons for students to go down there. But even if she was, she shouldn’t have gotten knifed to death.
