This is the extraordinary moment an ashen-faced Hugh Grant learned that the Tories were on course for a landslide general election win despite his personal campaign to stop Boris Johnson and scupper Brexit.
The outspoken actor, 59, looked crestfallen when the exit poll landed at 10pm last night as he enjoyed wine and food at the Tendido Cero tapas restaurant in Kensington last night.
As he saw the woeful performance by Labour and the Lib Dems on polling day, the Love Actually star looked down-trodden with his wife Anna Eberstein.
A witness told MailOnline: 'He was constantly staring at his phone. He and his wife sat at the bar and he looked increasingly glum as the night went on. They had beer and red wine and went home pretty quickly after the exit poll'.

Instead of vacationing on the beaches of Monaco or some other exclusive location that is completely sanitized of all things 3rd world, let him vacation on those beaches where the 3rd world savages drive onto the beach and then run for the hills. I’m betting that somewhere off the coast of Monaco, along its pristine beaches, marina’s and waterfront villas, there’s a bunch of heavily armed dudes patrolling the waters, just out of eyeshot, making sure a boatload of dudes from sub-Saharan Africa don’t roll up and ruin everyone’s day.

Why is an actor’s opinion about politics always given such deference? I’m more interested to know what Hugh Grant’s plumber, doctor, mechanic, accountant, housekeeper — hell, even what his lawyer thinks about the election!
