I don’t think any non-citizen should be able to buy a gun, even green card holders.
No guns until you take the oath as a citizen.
A now retired gun dealer in town said...to whoever was conducting the background check...that he wouldn’t sell a gun to anyone not born in America.
I have run into students in NRA classes I have taught in the past where they were foreign students or workers on visas, and they would obtain a hunting license so that they could legally handle guns in the class or even purchase them.
It is clear after this incident that this hunting license loophole has a problem. For starters, a person obtaining a hunting permit is probably not going to use a 9mm handgun to hunt...
Agree. The Constitution is written to protect the rights of citizens. We are being generous, unnecessarily so (IMHO), when we extend all of those rights to non-citizens.
No foreign nationals - not even military ones from allies - should be allowed to purchase weapons in the USA.
Green card holders pay federal income taxes and are subject to being drafted into federal military service. If you accept the concept that people here lawfully, who have not broken any laws, do not have God-given Constitutional rights, then you’ve taken your first step down a very slippery slope.
