On Fridays PBS NewsHour, New York Times columnist David Brooks argued 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden had one of the best weeks of the campaign and Bidens confrontation with a voter in Iowa showed vigor, showed toughness, and gave Biden control of the news cycle.
Brooks stated, I do think Joe Biden had a one of the best weeks of the campaign. He had an ad mocking
President Trump
and then he went after that voter. Which I think showed vigor, showed toughness, showed hes doing well, and I think also allowed him to control the news cycle, which he hasnt done for a long time.

"It showed a lack of control. That is a US citizen and slow Joe attacked him. It showed stupidity."
With just that one brief exchange, Comatose Joe managed to diss older people, overweight people, Marines, and all veterans! (Together, those groups add up to about three-fourths of all eligible American voters, and Joe Beat-off managed to insult and alienate all of them at one shot!)

Nobody uses the word 'vigor' when describing anything but a person who is in general losing his or her vigor.
You wouldn't say 'Trump is vigorous'. But you MIGHT say 'Ginsberg looks vigorous today' because maybe she raised her arm or woke up for a few minutes or something.

“... then he went after that voter.”
Hmmm, I thought this was America, where people like Biden and Pelosi worked for us. The idea that a mere politician feels free to “go after” a law-abiding citizen just seems wrong to me.

On the other hand the farmer bought into the Trump involvement in the Ukraine. When the truth comes out officially then that farmer is in for a big surprise.

Yes, he seemed a tough hombre, Mr. Brooks, but would he be able to beat you doing pushups?

I believe Brooks is the NYT’s token “conservative.” There may be others, but I have yet to hear about them.

I believe Brooks is the NYTs token conservative. There may be others, but I have yet to hear about them. Brett Stephens (U of Chicago, London School of Economics, just ask him) turned Never Trumper in 2016, jumped ship at the WSJ and has been drooling on himself for the NYT ever since.
He is smarter than David Brooks (low bar) but is bitchier too.

When Biden and Pelosi do it, they are strong.
When Trump does it it’s grounds for impeachment.

David Brooks is an Israel first NeoCon. This explains everything that he writes & says.

As usual, I disagree with David Brooks.
Biden just displayed that he can’t take a hint of criticism without becoming a bully.

It showed that Joe is a thin skinned blowhard who doesn't know how to respond to even the slightest criticism. I'm sure president Trump will have Joe's hair plugs popping out of his head within minutes during a debate. Blood will shoot out his eye and dentures will be on the floor by the time president Trump finishes with him. Corn Pops did nothing to ready Joe for a mental beat down.
