President Trump on Friday said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reviewing water efficiency standards, claiming that some people flush the toilet 10 times, 15 times due to a lack of water pressure.
We have a situation where were looking very strongly at sinks and showers, and other elements of bathrooms, Trump said during a small business roundtable at the White House. You turn the faucet on and you dont get any water. They take a shower and water comes dripping out.
He added that people are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once. They end up using more water. So EPA is looking at that.

If I had to flush 15 times I would probably give-up after 7 and think it is someone else’s problem.
I saw this meeting on YouTube and he also talked about bringing back incandescent light bulbs, and joked about how these newer bulbs give off bad light and make him look orange. He said we needed to change the bulbs in a couple of White House rooms. He was really funny.
do you live in CA?
I miss the days of Al Bundy’s ‘Ferguson 50’...
The ‘Chicago Fountain’ would dip everytime Al flushed.....
Too funny. By now Trump has fun saying/tweeting stuff, knowing how people will be spending all their time accusing Trump of making it all up. Hell probably just sit back and have a good laugh at Twitter blowing up cause he said 10 to 15.
All Americans, GOP AND Dems*, have experienced comebackers.
* Except for those really skinny liberals on the coasts who subsist only on Fiji water and kelp.
We got new self flushing toilets at work.
They flush twice before you sit down.
If you line the seat with a toilet seat liner, it will flush when you straighten up to turn around, flushing your liner with it. Had to hang the tongue of the liner out the other direction to stop the cycle.
They flush fairly well, but leave skid marks which require 2 more flushes to clear out.
My thrones(theres 3) are over 30 years old. I do my business and I flush. They fill and wait till I have the urge. There have been times the flapper didnt drop and seal. Ive replaced tank internals once or twice. Fill level is adjustable but a little more water means a lot less flushing. Id bet my old fixtures are as efficient as the new ones. Granted they dont save water like crapping on the sidewalks but I like my privacy.
Im not a politician
If EVERY contractor you know is that (I have tried several words and cannot find one that encapsulates both my horror and disgust at the ignorance expressed by that statement) I really have no response.
I live in a house built in the ‘60s. I have replaced 2 of 3 toilets with low-flow units. The one in the basement hasn’t been used other than to keep water in the trap since I bought the house.
The ONLY problem I have had is with-—how can I put this politely?-—surprise emissions that would have challenged even an old-school 5.5 gallon Ferguson flush (ref:Married With Children).
Yes, the first low flow toilets were complete and utter garbage. The water flow engineers were finally brought in, and most of them work just fine now. If you are buying cheap Chinese crap, you DESERVE to have your bowl flow back into your ensuite.
It is again Washington and its bureaucratic cesspool that have mandated these low flush crappers.
Get the government out of our bathrooms
Use 2 flushes instead of one where one was all that was needed before the gov’t got involved..
At work we have these automatic sinks. You place your hand under the faucet and several streams of water come out. You have to hold your hands under longer as the water stops then starts then stops and starts etc. and the amount is never good enough to feel your hands are clean compared to a full stream of water.
Also the faucets go on and off and the toilets flush by themselves.
Not every low flow toilet is made equal.
A bit of research before buying one is helpful to find one rated highly by testing places and actual buyers.
That’s what I did and got great ones that were engineered to properly work with a lower amount of water.
I remember the first time I saw Married With Children, I said to my girlfriend, I cant believe this is on television at this hour, its so risqué.
Now look where we are.
Light bulbs, water flow and changing the antibacterials in soap are three examples where the government came to “help” and has negatively impacted my quality of life. Then there’s fake clothes (synthetics) and fake food and constant badgering to take body poisons which destroy ones immune system. And technology that has us spied upon 24/7. These are not the changes would would’ve expected over the past 50+ years of my adult life.
‘President Trump is right. ‘

I cannot for the life of me, convince my beloved husband to replace his old commode for a new one.
And the reason Pres Trump gave is the exact reason my beloved gives me. He’s not going to give up his old commode which decides to not work as designed because of age occasionally for one that is designed to not work.
So I really hope Pres Trump can make progress on this small nightmare.
Hi, KittenClaws-!
Can you have Well Water brought in to do your yard?
Not being flippant.
I have seen yards in my area that are beautiful and they have signs about Well Water being used. And the vehicles bringing the water in are indeed bringing in Well Water from out of town.
I have no problem with folks using their money in any legal way. Come to think of it, using it for ethical ways may be the way to protest in the future. After all, the Democrats make what is ethical and moral to be illegal....
If you can still save your beautiful tree try checking into that way of watering.
Flushing a koran takes at least 10 tries.
Good, get rid of the AlGore legacy of the multi flush crapper.. If they change this, I’ll go out and replace every one in my house before the dumocrats change it back.
Glad he’s bringing back REGULAR LIGHT BULBS also!
The new conserve water toilets forced upon us during the first years of Obama made us do just that flush several times to clear. There are congressional hearings to prove this idiocy and their arrogant determination to force this on us
