I’m all about soups and homemade bread this time of year...until Spring, LOL!
I’ll dig out some of my soup recipes for 2020 threads.
Meanwhile, I’m getting a sourdough starter going today so I can bake bread this weekend.
I’m not making Christmas Cookies this year - I’m not Hostessing ANYTHING for a change, so I will rely on the Kindness of Strangers to meet my ‘cookie needs’ this Christmas. :)
I just looked and all the Two Fat Ladies episodes are on YouTube. Including my favorite one, when they cook for the Benedictine nuns.
I’ve been clearing the freezer of too many homemade stocks. Lots of empty the fridge soups, yum. Hubby doesn’t like soups but he was gone a lot in the fall so while the cat’s away, it’ soup time! He has suddenly decided he does like chowders like a basic pantry corn and cheese chowder made with a rue, can of corn, onion (sauted in bacon grease),leftover veggies, milk/cream/sour cream/yogurt/whatever and whatever cheeses.
If anyone likes fruitcake,( I know, I know. )
Costco has the best fruitcake for 15 bucks.
It is delicious and keeps for months in the freezer sliced and properly wrapped.
