At 82 years old, actor Billy Dee Williams is still finding new ways to make himself the epitome of cool.
In a feature profile for Esquire, the man known for playing Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise a role hes reprising this winter for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker talks about how he freely identifies with both he/him/himself and she/her/herself pronouns. Its not immediately clear if Williams has a clear preference for one set of pronouns or not.

I never tried to be anything except myself, Williams said. I think of myself as a relatively colorful character who doesnt take himself or herself too seriously.
In the article, most of the topics being discussed focus on Williams career, which started on Broadway at age 8. He also explores finding success as a painter, and how Carrie Fishers and Harrison Fords much-gossiped romance on the set of Star Wars films didnt bother him the slightest.
Yet, the most surprising detail to arise from the article was Williams definition of his gender expression.
And you see I say himself and herself, because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine, Williams tells Esquire Culture Editor Matt Miller. Im a very soft person. Im not afraid to show that side of myself.

My sympathies to all the women who swooned about Billy Dee when he was the “cool, handsome” symbol of black masculinity back in the 70s. Now you know how your mothers felt when they found out Rock Hudson was gay.
WHO?
Somebody cares? He can go stick it in the sand as far as I’m concerned. They all can.
What a pandering loser, trying to stay relevant.
As Andrew Dice Clay says: “Let’s clear this up now! No such thing! You either s**k d**k or you do not s**k d**k there is no inbetween. What do these guys get up in the morning and flip a coin?”
Florence Johnson (played by Marla Gibbs) on The Jeffersons - had a thing for him.
he covered himself with "Why Don't You Like Me?", which was played to the tune of "Tell Me You Love Me." It was a funny little ditty "sung" by Michael Jackson (I think Mike Keneally was on vox).
Toward the end, while playing a bit of "Billy Jean" Frank mention the names of several people who are not "the illegitimate love-child of Michael Jackson." At 2:28, Frank says "Lando Calrissian" - the first time I hear that, I laughed really hard and to this day, I can't hear that name without thinking of this song.
Enjoy - now you, too, may be marked.
So basically he came out of the closet as a freak of nature.
Got it.
I always thought this guy was strange
Hes still pissed they gave Harvey Dent to Tommy Lee Jones. I coulda been a great Two-Gender!
You mean you've never had the Aunt Jemima treatment?
He probably cant remember which bathroom he is supposed to go in.
= = =
So, if I pee in the middle of the street, what gender-trans species do I claim to be to justify my actions?
82? Makes no difference. Sin is sin, nomatter the age, or color of skin.
I always liked PJ.
I feel like Im reading the Onion. Life has gotten far too wierd.
An incontinent chicken.
Always liked Carl Weathers better. Classier and more badass.
He obviously stopped drinking that. Someone needs to send him a case of Colt 45, stat!!
