has anybody updated with the latest windows10 update. If so do you have any problems with it and/or do you like it?
Save for later.
It appears to shut down successfully. On the next start up, it is trying to open tasks that were closed before shut down.
Sometimes, on shutdown, it claims that a Task Host window is open and preventing shutdown. Not true, but can’t shut down without choosing Force Shutdown. What did MS do? go back and copy some code from Windows 98, which had problems shutting down too?
I’m hoping that MS doesn’t lend its programming team to the next Mars shot, or it will crash for sure.
Microsoft is the only company that can sell ‘upgrades’ with less features.
The OS had become a bloated mess because it tries to be more than an OS. If they could get downloads back to under a GB by losing stuff that should be standalone apps anyway it'd be a big help. If I have to factor download time into my bandwidth plan for a measly five computers, that's too much, and I certainly don't have to do that with Linux.
or was just unnecessary shite to begin with
I wish the one change they would make would be to kill Cortana and return the simple search feature minus Cortana and minus any implication of searching the web; which can be done in any browser, with the search engine default you’ve already chosen for your browser.
WINDOWS 10 FEATURES
Other Windows 10 features made obsolete include,
o Browsing the whole, entire web is now obsolete, replaced with the Tiny Web.
o Computer Memory is obsolete being replaced by sales spam pop ups.
o Clear, coherant user experience is now replaced with Common Core style confusion.
o USB Never Connect is a new feature.
Buy Windows 10 to get many new features. And just wait until you see Number 7 !!!
Sometimes I really miss MS-DOS. It never crashed, there was no “blue screen of death” and the only programs that I ever needed to run were Lotus 123 and WordPerfect.
OTOH, it was kind of a pain to have to load the operating system and the software from 5.25” floppy disks whenever I wanted to use my PC.
I’m a fairly heavy Win 10 user across multiple devices, and I don’t recognize or use any of those features that are being deprecated here.
Btw, Win 10 and Office 365 have been brilliant for me and my company. No issues whatsoever and cross-device syncing and sharing is fantastic.
Only one I see myself using is (the hidden) System Image Backup, but since it may no longer be able to restore the system, then it is no longer viable it seems.
