California is dying (video)
youtube ^ | 10/25/19 | Joseph Vice

Posted on 11/23/2019 8:48:22 AM PST by Signalman

I vent for 20 minutes about my home state.

Mr. Vice, a man in his 30s, married with a child, gives many reasons why he is leaving the state in which he has lived his entire life.

California is one catastrophe away from from sinking into permanent Third World status.

Third World status!

A third of Californians are on welfare. (That means NO TAX monies to run basic state obligations) The state debt bomb keeps growing while more and more state workers are getting higher retirement pensions.

Which won't matter if the income from fees, taxes etc kept ahead of the state expenses.

It won't!

The infrastructures built in the post WW2 years is deteriorating and not repaired on schedule but only when the structure is on the verge of total collapse(Think of the Orville Dam, if it would have received timely repair, it may never got to the situation critical why total, life threatening collapse was immediate.)

Higher taxes are no longer the answer. The taxes which suppose to go to repair, update build need infrastructure, is diverted to service the debt, fed, "educate" and house the illegal hordes the sanctuary cities and states(like California) and finance the outrageous pension plans and maybe, just maybe "patch" the infrastructures long enough to pass the problem to the next liberal-socialist government who makes promises for MORE loudest special interest groups.

The electrical grid is aging, the forests are overgrown and the dams needed to store the non year rain, are being either blown up(for a delta smelt) or not being built because the monies are just not there.

Californians cannot blame(at least not with a straight face) mismanagement by conservatives as they have been in complete control by the one party socialist state.

Add in the unchecked illegal aliens who put more of a drain on the public coffers.

But California socialists will keep blaming Donald J Trump for the forest fires, electrical cutoffs, in the streets, the homeless on every public space and continued mass shootings and ever increasing crime rates....

The rich, "nouveau riche" Hollywood and Silicone Valley whose wealth is from manufacturing cheap Chinese products and shipping their labour costs to China while sheltering their under-taxed capital gains on offshore banks, are isolated from the miseries they caused as they hid behind their armed guards, thick masonry walls(which aren't suppose to work) and their "bug out " shelters and their ready at a moment jets to fly them outta the hellhole they helped create

Hmmmmmmm. Will they have enough guards, guns and ammunition stored to fend off the hordes of illegals(remember their gardeners, maids and au pairs probably have boyfriends, friends or relatives who have no problem breaking a few US laws. Friends who tattoos, gang affiliations, drugs and guns they used to get their "friends' across the border.

And they know WHERE you live and HOW to get into your "Sanctum Sanctorum"

Yeah, great Plan "B", you got, Bill Gates, Bloomberg, Pelosi. Did ya think they's just sit at they airport while you jet away to safety? )

But all will be alright.... when the Orange bad man leaves the White House.....

(Keeps repeating this mantra)

(When the Orange bad man leaves... all will be alright)
(When the Orange bad man leaves... all will be alright)
(When the Orange bad man leaves... all will be alright)
(When the Orange bad man leaves... all will be alright)
(When the Orange bad man leaves... all will be alright)
(when the Orange bad man leaves... )

#9: "We need to start thinking like the Eisenhower America."

That was a wonderful era. People who didn't live through it probably can never fully understand how nice it was. It was the high water mark of American civilization Up until John Kennedy's assassination, things were going pretty smooth. But once Lyndon Johnson got in, this country went downhill and never recovered.

Fun fact: half of America’s ‘homeless’ reside in California.

He says in the video that the rich can fund the state by themselves and don't care that the middle class are leaving.

Those on the bottom that are left after the middle class leaves should be very aware that they are next on the list to be ousted from the state.

The left wants all that real estate for themselves and they're doing a good job at taking it. It's happening all over the country. Fires, floods, hurricanes, it doesn't matter what it is. They swoop in and buy the nice real estate at bargain prices and put those devastated into high rise apartments.

—> They used to say that everyone should live in California for five years. I lasted ten before leaving at the end of 2015. <—

I lasted only three. SoCal. San Bernardino and Ontario. 2012-2015. SB is a complete SH....there’s even an abandoned international airport there. Crazy. http://audiovision.scpr.org/377/inside-san-bernardinos-deserted-airport

Thank you. Your words ring true. We continue to
learn that the evil does not have to physically be
in the room to cause mayhem. To focus on California
while the universities in your own state are
devolving into liberal hellholes makes no sense.

Used to be a military base. Many a fine young man left for Viet Nam from there. Less came back.

SB was a $hithole when I lived there in the 70’s.

Damn, you sound a lot like my thinking. I suspect that even 90% of Republicans DID NOT understand that if Skunk Cabbage won in 2016, there was no going back short of Civil War, which likely wasn’t going to happen. It would have been no different than 1917, when Lennon takes over in Russia. Eventually people figure it out and overthrow, but it takes GENERATIONS before that happens (look at Iran, now, for example - over 40 years of Mullahs).

To the NeverTrumpers, they had it ‘all figured out’. We’d suffer through 2 years of Hillary, and then elect a bunch of Republicans to stop her.

...except, by then, it would be too late. With Garland on the Supreme Court and most other courts already Left-Wing, literally EVERYTHING Skunk Cabbage did to bypass Congress (think DACA on steroids) would have been upheld. We’d have several hundred Republicans in DC, totally powerless.

So, now, where are we? In my opinion, Trump’s first term buys us time, should Skunk Cabbage manage to win in 2020, so I won’t be packing suitcases in Feb. 2021 (as I planned to do in Feb 2017). I may still pack then, but I won’t leave until I’ve confirmed that it is indeed over.

By the way, as far as getting money out of the US, I think one way to do it might be through ATMs. For example, if you have 10 (US) banks, and you pull $800 per month out of each bank, you likely won’t set off alarms, but you will, pretty quickly build up your foreign currency holdings. Other than that, it’s quite challenging. [and thinking a bit more, if I ‘divorce’ my wife, then our accounts are separate, and we likely could pull out twice as much]

Also, have you looked into Japan’s rules for allowing high-quality immigrants to re-locate there (I know, odd concept for Americans...to give a crap regarding who settles in one’s country)? Obviously, I don’t know your background, but for people who can actually CONTRIBUTE (I know, foreign concept) to their society, they’ll let you settle there.

I’m wondering what took him so long. I left October 24, 1973. OK, so he wasn’t even born until 1985. Excuses, excuses!

Bookmarked for later.

I lived in California for a few years in the early 1980s while serving in the Marine Corps. Upon my discharge, I considered living there. I especially liked the Oceanside area (just north of San Diego). I guess I made the right decision but I should talk, I'm in NYC area now.

One of these days I'm going to retire and I'm taking all my money to a solid red state.

I’m not so sure that they are actually shutting off
the power in SF. If they are it is possible that
they MIGHT do it to provide the flexibility to send
crews to more rural areas to fortify the crews in
those rural areas. The old school PG&E linemen types
who are friends of mine tell me that PG&E is not
thrilled with having to supply power to us rural
& mountain folks because it is expensive to maintain
equipment to serve fewer customers compared to
urban and suburban areas, I don’t like it but I
understand it.

Think of how clean and prosperous CA was back in the ‘50s and early ‘60s. Its tragic that such a beautiful place has been run down and ruined by its wholesale embrace of socialism and leftist progressives.

I never thought I would see this even though I knew the potential existed.

To me, the first really big drop was in the Spring of 1993. The entire government/media/entertainment Axis of Evil was so anxious to expunge every trace of the Reagan/Bush years that they opened up the floodgates to every form of cultural trash that never could have previously made it on TV - acting on instructions from the newly installed Clinton Administration who guaranteed them no penalties for pushing the envelope. Gary Aldrich's book detailing the trash the Clintons brought to DC and into the White House really was just a microcosm of what took control of the entire government media/entertainment complex in that year.

A big part of the problem the way I see it is that
those who are responsible for informing the public
are so left wing that they are willing to see this
state sink rather than calling out the liberal
politicians who pass laws which harm the state. And,
that is a microcosm of what is going on in the nation
as a whole.

Heaven forbid a few Republicans get
elected to top state offices to bring needed changes
to things like education, for example. We are left
to wonder about the corruption that occurs because
so-called “investigative reporters” are great at
going after conservatives like Devin Nunes but are
strangely incurious when it comes to investigating
the party in power in this one party state.

To those of you who suggest that I move away,
forget it. You can choose to ignore me or choose
to ponder the alternative info that people like
me provide from time to time.

I was born and raised in this state. I will stay and fight.

I said the exact same thing for many years until I knew CA would never be what it once was and in every direction only became worse by the year. Nothing ever got better and the cost of *everything* just kept increasing. I finally decided fighting it was futile and a losing proposition. Being totally surrounded and out numbered can be very persuasive.

Signalman, I have a few suggestions for you as a
fift generation Californian. First, you are preaching
to the choir here at FR. I suggest that you prepare
an op ed to send to the major papers of California and
see if some of them have any inclination to publish
the ramblings of a person who has come to the end of
the rope.

Oregon and Washington have been gradually tilting
left so don’t bother moving there unless
you understand that the more rural you go, the
better. In fact you might find some attractive
prospects for a new life that have online local
newspapers. I suggest that you write letters to
those papers seeking feedback from the locals.
Explain that you are a Cali conservative who is
seeking a change for your family rather than to
try to change their community. See if you get
positive feedback or mostly pushback. Remember that
adding to the population of anywhere you go is
going to change things for you and them, especially
if others move there too. And, if there is a college
or university close to where you may relocate the
dynamics will be different and not for the better,
usually. The small NorCal community where I reside
politically changed for the worse when a junior
college 40 miles away placed a branch campus in
my home town.

For a long time I thought those I knew who were
moving away from my rural home area to places
like Sand Point, Idaho were taking their conservative
attitudes w/them and that would not hinder Idaho if
they continued to live their quiet, conservative
lives. They had moved to Idaho because they were
pushed out by liberals with money who changed this
rural area in a bad way. I got all that. The truth
is regardless if the migration is liberal or
conservative property values will change if there is
enough movement. You can view that in different ways.

Now, I can see that there are liberals from California
who move to get away from the liberal laws and
politicians they voted for that ruined this state
and these damned and dumb liberals are willing to
take their act elsewhere to rinse and repeat.

Remember how California got to where we are. We
were a happy go lucky people who were strong on
libertarian “live and let live”. Too many of
those who took advantage of that attitude follow
the creed of my tagline.....,
