I am also not a movie watcher. However, I got the reference because of the many times the “Kraken” line has been cited here. :)

Goes back to mythology way before movies, but it’s basically a sea monster that engulfs entire ships. Most often it is portrayed as a gigantic squid wrapping the ship up, tearing it apart, and then using it’s beak like mouth to get to the creamy center.
