Students at the University of Oklahoma are working to remove the school’s “Boomer” and “Sooner” nicknames out of concern that the words are offensive to Native Americans.
According to the OU Daily, the Undergraduate Student Congress met Nov. 12 to mandate a name change for the “Sooner Freshman Council”, citing the words “boomer” and “sooner” as offensive to the Native American community.

I am a Halfbreed 67 year old Mojave, and have no problem with any collegiate football team music, starting in 1970 and forward! These ‘yackoffs’ have never asked me for my input, so ahem chuck foo!!!
How has it become that only small minorities are protected from “being offended”? “Oh, look how woke we are to assume you people are offended by things we do because we are racist and stuff.”

As much as I loathe the ou sooners, this is just stupid.
Those poor Indians of Oklahoma. They are forced to suffer the effects on their tribes owning over a hundred casinos in the state.
Every word is subject to this. Whenever some demented idiot raises a fuss over a word and calls it “racist” that word is added to the ever-growing list of taboo words.
What word is next? “the”?

This council is prepping for government positions as they are displaying the same idiocy required to be a public representative.
Well of course “the” is offensive. It contains the letters H & E. HE.

It only takes ONE PERSON who is offended, to change decades of language. The majority MUST BEND to the minority at all times.
And Oklahoma is abbreviated OK, so it’s *literally* OKBoomer.
