He Finally Did It
In the three years since Colin Kaepernick knelt his way off of the San Francisco 49ers and out of the National Football League, the one thing the drama has lacked is ambivalence. People either hated him or viewed him as social hero who was being mistreated and prevented from playing the game he loves.
Throughout his supposedly unwanted hiatus from football, Kaepernick and those representing him have insisted that he is staying in playing shape and merely wanted a chance to showcase his skills for a team.
Last week, the NFL offered him that chance. The Nike hero was supposed to work out for twenty-five teams in Atlanta last Saturday.
As most of you probably know by now, the workout was derailed a bit because Kaepernick did what he truly does best: act like an insufferable primadonna.
At 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, with about two dozen scouts waiting at the Falcons’ facility, Kaepernick announced that the workout would be moved to a high school an hour away. Many scouts threw up their arms and headed straight to the airport. Dozens of reporters and cameramen drove south to the high school field.
The NFL -- which often gets things like this wrong -- responded like adults, but if you read between the lines here, you can see that they’re really over Kaepernick:

Why do you say everyone hates him NOW....I hated him ever since he took a knee.....he is sorry as shit.
Nike is for Losers.
I don’t follow football and this guy was an obvious jerk from the start. But I do have a question — was he a good player? Why should anyone care about anything he does? If the guy was a Joe Montana and decided to sideline himself, I could see why that might be worth some attention. But I’m not sure he was ever a good player. So who cares about this guy?
Some day (soon) he will be a Jeopardy question that nobody will know the answer to (like The Creepy Porn Lawyer, AKA Michael Avenatti).
Since he took millions of bucks, from the NFL, I would have thought he would have been prohibited from playing. Will the POS sue the NFL again, and win again?
Just Do It, doooood!
As much as our degraded culture loves and rewards attention-seekers, it looks like maybe there is still a limit. The guy is clearly a better QB than many who are on rosters for NFL teams. He ultimately failed as a starter, but even as a backup, would a team need to enlarge its locker room for his entourage of lawyers and other assorted leeches? The only reason anyone ever liked him was for his SJW stunts, and it’s now blatantly obvious that it was all just to draw attention to himself. Why would anyone like him?
Because black pastors threatened a Black Out boycott of the NFL if he wasn’t brought in. 50% of the viewing audience in their power.
He thinks he’s ‘Ali’ I guess.
Like the billion dollars that China feeds the NBA.
Can’t made them tune out.
The rest of America can take a hike, I guess, is their thinking.
He was good for a time. But was a crappy backup at the end who tried to use social justice to immunize himself and stay relevant.
He’s. Scared. To. Death. Of. Getting. Tackled!
So here is the insider story to this guy.
There was only one single college to offer him a scholarship (University of Nevada). They weren’t exactly playing NCAA teams that you’d rate highly. But in the games that he played...he assembled great numbers.
He went as the 4th pick in the second round of the draft. Some people argue that the Forty-Niners screwed up.
He played only 3 games in 2011 (first season). Second year...13 games, but was more or less average. So in 2013 and 2014....he actually had decent numbers (3,000-plus yards passing each season).
2015, 9 games played and nothing much to talk about. At this point, his star was fading. 2016, he showed some return to his former self, but this soap opera routine was consuming public interest in a negative way. That was the end of his career at that point.
Three years of no field activity, and minimum interest by NFL clubs. If you needed a back-up quarterback, there are dozen guys who weren’t signed last season and ready to play....with no soap opera theatrics.
May I encourage ALL FREEPERS to abandon Nike and Gillette products.
I have found FILA shoes in full leather cheaper and FAR superior for my kids. (I wear loafers generally.)
NIKE makes glorified socks these days.
BIC razors are better than Gillette razors, and cheaper.
Actually the only reason he was liked was because he was the starting QB for the Niners. The minute he went SJW(hint, never go full SJW) he was doomed.
Somehow I doubt that 50% of the viewing audience statistic.
Visit a black church and what you'll find is mostly women in the pews.
The black pastor may be able to affect 50% of the men in his congregation but that will be a very small proportion of the black NFL viewing audience let alone the overall viewing audience.
An audience that is getting smaller and smaller by the day because of players like Kaepernick.
If you play for any NFL team of consequence the last person you want to see in the locker room- Colin Kaepernick.
Already did... like millions of others too. Gillette got hammered.
