How does the air ventilation system work? Are there numerous vent pipes sticking up out of the ground?

In the case of a total economic collapse could not people above ground just stuff up the vent pipes?

Knew a guy that made a ridiculously low bid on one in NM and got it. Last I heard he hadn’t figured out how to get all the trash out of the bottom of it.

I used to explore one in Chico... Dark, wet, cold, dirty, rusting... fun for a few hours.. This site seems dry, but didn’t see any pictures of the actual silo.
