That leads to the question of have we see Angela Merkel in purple?

I found these which were (I think) collected in 2012. So we know she has purple garb available. I was unable to figure out how to make the pix bigger so I could read the captions.

I found this story from 2017, and scrolling down a bit, one can see a Getty photo of Merkel in purple. Not sure, though, when the pic was taken. So, not sure if she did the “purple surrender.”

Her official photo on here Wikipedia description has her in purple. That would have been from after the 2018 election most likely.
