There’s no question guests Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle completely “triggered” the hosts of The View Thursday, as the president’s son was there, ironically to promote his book of the same title. The food fight continued for nearly thirty minutes, finally culminating with Trump shocking hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg by calling out their own controversies.
Co-host Meghan McCain somberly lectured Trump over his father’s hostile relationship with her late father, Sen. John McCain. She characterized the downfall of “civility” in society being entirely Trump’s fault, and pressed him if his father’s presidency “was worth it.” While Trump and Guilfoyle were sympathetic to McCain they explained how the President had changed many people’s lives for the better with the economy in particular. Behar tried to pick up on that “civility” schtick, accusing Trump of calling Mexicans “rapists,” et cetera. Trump Jr. turned the tables back on the hosts, again, by bringing up Behar’s past "blackface" Halloween costume, and Whoopi excusing rape by her Hollywood friend. Whoopi again tried to claim that other presidents have had a harder time than President Trump by the media:
DONALD TRUMP JR: We have all done things that we regret. I mean if we're talking about bringing the discourse down, Joy. You have worn blackface. Whoopi --
JOY BEHAR: No, I have not. I have not.
TRUMP JR: [Whoopi] You said that Roman Polanski, it wasn't rape rape when he raped a child. So let's talk about serious things--
WHOOPI: You want to bring this up? The question came up --
BEHAR: I did not go in blackface, please.
WHOOPI: No, she was not in blackface.
BEHAR: Thank you.
WHOOPI: Listen being black, I recognize blackface. This I can say, okay? I know it when I see it. Now that you have broken this piece of ice because I guess this is the fight you wanted --
TRUMP JR: It's not the fight I wanted. But if we're talking about character.
WHOOPI: Are you questioning my character?
TRUMP JR: I'm not questioning your character. I'm talking about -- you're questioning my father's character.
WHOOPI: I'm sorry. I didn't question anybody! I simply said that when you’re talking about your father's taken more heat than anybody else, that is not so.
TRUMP JR: As a president?
WHOOPI: Yes. A president.
“Name a president that has taken more heat than my father,” Trump insisted. Since they couldn’t do it, Sunny Hostin claimed the “Central Park five” received more heat than President Trump.
While this was definitely low hanging fruit, the hosts invited their own criticism by being so nasty. Ironically, during a discussion on civility, Whoopi claimed without proof, that the whistleblower’s family was now getting anthrax letters, leading to this disgusting exchange:
WHOOPI: If you were talking about the white powder that your family got, this guy's [whistleblower] family is getting the same thing, and why is it okay for one and not both? People shouldn't be doing it.
TRUMP JR: I don't know if that's actually happening to him first and foremost.
WHOOPI: Well we don't know if it happened to you! We're taking your [word] [applause]
Polanski was in London filming in early August 1969 when his wife was murdered
I’m unaware of any accusations of rape against him at that time in London or Los Angelses so the notion that while Sharon was being murdered he was raping in LA is patently absurd
If anyone has any evidence he was raping in Los Angeles instead please feel free to share with the lLAPD

Polanski was in London working on a movie the night of the murders. He flew back from London and submitted to a polygraph interview on August 16th.
What he said is that he had an affair with two airline stews while in London. Certainly “young women”. Not exactly the same as the “very young girl” of 1977.

Nobody said he was in Los Angeles. In fact, that police needed to find out where he was kinda suggests he wasn’t at his home.

FYI, as I’ve ordered MANY polygraph exams over the 30 years that I was a LEO/senior agent, I would BET that NO question were even asked of him about WHO he allegedly had intercourse with, PROVIDED that those females did NOT tie him to a possible “deal” to kill his wife & her friends.

The LAPD detective stated in his official report that Polansky’s “playmate” at the London hotel was LIKELY no older than 15YO. - Some of the hotel staff confirmed that she spent several nights with him.
(In those days, having a VERY YOUNG sex partner was NOT a “big deal” in the UK , IF you were a rich enough VIP.)

While I know Polanski has had violence in his past, it doesn’t excuse him. The only case we know for sure has him giving alcohol and quaaludes to a tiny girl and then penetrating 3 of her orifices. NO EXCUSE for this. Even without the sex, he could have killed her. She also said she was having an asthma attack to try and stop him and he did nothing to attempt to help her (it wasn’t true, but did he know that?).
Kids are not to be used for your sexual jollies. Period. I’ve been her age and drugged like that. You have no control of your body and they can do anything to you. Just because you’re a holocaust survivor or a violent crime victim doesn’t give you permission to rape kids. His victim should not be excusing him either.

I agree with you. Every word. There is no doubt that horrible childhood and the emotional trauma played a role in his adult decision making.
But there are people who have such childhoods or worse who do not go on to hurt innocents. I realize as an adult he also experienced horrific violence. It was like it followed him forever. It really was not fair. And the mansons only chose his home because they knew it from when the Beach Boy guy lived there.
So it’s a cause but no excuse. We agree.
Make that ‘expletive liar’, and we’ll call it even!
