Onne Vegter Great story. Must say this is no more difficult to believe than the idea that at some point there was nothing, and by sheer chance without any cause, nothing exploded in a big bang and formed the universe with billions and billions of galaxies. And by chance, life formed on one tiny planet and not only survived, but reproduced and thrived and evolved into millions of different and incredible living organisms, ranging from microbes to microbiologists. Just unbelievable. Much easier to believe that God exists and your mother had an encounter with Jesus. Thanks for sharing.
Thomas Munos I am a Christian because Christianity makes the most rational sense. I would be careful of science because there are many scientists invested in their atheism so it impacts their science. Here is one scientist who challenges the claims of those who pass abiogenesis (the formation of the first life) as easy. Many scientists treat abiogenesis as a simple step which is not true!
Mika Life That's fascinating! I'm atheist, so I definitely don't believe in god, but, I haven't done enough research on the scientific explanations to see which one I believe in. So, I guess I'm kind of in the same boat for not believing either (that is, until I do my research and figure out which of the scientific explanations -- if any -- I believe)
Howard Miller Sciences are good discipline for understanding specific phenomena. I suspect we actually only understand a tiny fraction of the universe. A mathematician, Kurt Goedel, proved that if you make your math rigorous enough, there will be things that exist but you can't prove.

Hey Masters Degree, did you mean skeptic (a person who questions the validity or authenticity of something purporting to be factual).
Sad that she’s gone now, being the only one who can answer what Jesus wears to the beach.
Sweet story and I would love to believe it. But I don’t.

What happened to the socks in the baggie? Surely somebody can produce them to add validity to the story.
It’s true because I read it on the Internet.
The only question I have is: If she experienced an out of body experience how did sand get on her body? That being said, a most amazing story, and I have no reason to doubt it.
Why rich conservatives don’t buy media outlets.
I am completely skeptical that her story happened. Why? Because if this really happened she would not have remained a skeptic, unless she is not smart.
The whole story is too long to tell but here are the basics.
Returning home at night. As I neared DeFuniak Springs, I slowed a little. I had been doing 110 on the Bob Sikes Road.
Ran into intense fog, hit the brakes. They were a little out of adjustment and the car pulled to the right and off the road.
While still blind, I pulled back on the road and an instant later saw red lights in my rear view mirror.
At first I thought I was dead and I was seeing the ambulance. Then I realized it was a mosquito spraying truck in the same lane I had been in doing around 90.
Today it seems like it didn’t really happen. I could not have possibly passed that truck while driving blind in the same lane.
Still it did happen.
