What a remarkable new product but for one thing, it's been around in one form or another since 1869, It's called MARGARINE!

Margarine has been made from a variety of plant oils over the years ranging from Corn, Rapeseed, Sunflower, Safflower, Coconut, you name it. This particular variety is made from a combination of Canola, Soybean, Olive and Palm Kernel oil. Just a slight variation of 100 other similar margarines currently being offered up out there.

There is one difference from most of the other margarine products out there though....The sweet little premium they charge over the cost average of other brands available ($3.69 vs $2.49 approximately a 48% surcharge)

Well, it is being offered up in some catchy new packaging complete with attractive graphics.

I have little doubt this will be a big winner for Land O Lakes for two significant reasons.....The new trendy narrative the average American consumer is eating up right now (pun intended) is non-animal plant based alternatives and second, at least 50% of the ever so easily deceived population will never make the ridiculously obvious connection.

“It looks like butter.”

Artificially colored as are all margarines.

I was just thinking that we’ve had corn-oil products that closely resemble butter all my life.

I admire the company’s chutzpah, though.

Personally I cant believe anyone is dumb enough or has taste buds dead enough to buy Country Crock.

As margarine is fake butter, Country crock is imitation fake butter, its not even margarine. Its mostly water. Seriously. Read the package, its just enough oil whipped into water to create sort of a foam. It tastes like ++++ and all it does is make the bread wet. You can run your toast under the faucet and get the same thing. Its not oily or fatty or anything that one might want, its just wet. You cant cook with it, theres almost no oil so it doesn’t fry anything and it just adds more water instead of fats to other recipes so it just screws up whatever your making.

Its trash floated by magic marketing that stays afloat due to some of the dumbest consumers.

Back in the day, Oleo wasn’t allowed to be called “butter” because it wasn’t butter. Same with this new stuff - it isn’t butter.

Butter is just plants and water processed through a cow factory.

No thanks-no processed food for me-that crap is margarine-that unhealthy made-from-processed plant oil crap that does not taste like butter and only lacks a few ingredients to make it a soft plastic or a lubricant like WD40-I’ll keep eating butter-locally made butter when I can get it...

What a remarkable new product but for one thing, it's been around in one form or another since 1869, It's called MARGARINE!

One thing I've noticed in the past few years is that more and more of the fake butter is called "spread" because it has too much water and air mixed in to even be called margarine.
