I guess that would make me unhappy then. Seems silly and unnecessary work to string the lights before Christmas and then take them down after (or maybe not). We do put up the tree.
As our kid gets older and may eventually move out, we may not put up the tree. Then again, if our kid gets married and has kids of his own, we'd go all out for the grandkids.

My studies show people who don’t mess with the crap of decorating at all are the happiest. They have more free time to do fun stuff and don’t risk their lives stringing up stupid lights nor do they have to get out in the middle of January and freeze their tuchas off removing the decorations.

Christmas lights are now going up before Halloween.
Pathetic.

Its a complete misunderstanding of the holiday to have the decorations up that early. Unfortunately, Americans have adjusted the Christmas season to mirror the Christmas
shopping season, and many of the same people who are the first to put the tree up are the first to take it down, often the day after Christmas, which is only the second day of the Christmas octave.
Traditionally, most people wouldnt see the Christmas tree until they came downstairs on Christmas morning.

I just don’t ever take them down. Lazy people are happy people.

We ‘Really’ DoD not celebrate Christmas the past two years since my wife died.
We are putting up the Christmas tree tomorrow.

The eye gate is probably the most effective portal into your concsiousness and looking at something that has SO many good, happy and positive thoughts and memories every day or evening for over a month has GOT to have an effect.

Now that we’ve reached “old fart” stage, we don’t decorate much. Maybe a wreath or pictures, but definitely not a tree, etc. I trying to unload a set of Spode Christmas china to no avail.

I start tomorrow. Always have started day after Halloween. I start with the Christmas music as well. Usually Super Bowl Sunday weekend is when the last of the lights come down.
It really does make one happier and gets me through the dark days of winter.

We have a few siblings who never take down their main Christmas decorations. They are perpetually happy.
My wife loves to decorate for the main seasons. It is amazing what she has collected in close to 60 years of marriage. She has early/mid and late fall decorations.
She does the same for Christmas. Late fall/Thanksgiving go down on black Friday, and Christmas decs. come out on 1 Dec and change after Christmas until mid January.

Not for me! Why should I freeze parts of my body putting up excess lights and then freeze my body taking them down! I HATE putting up lots of lights!
Inside lights no problem.

I can’t believe that Sirius/XM is playing Christmas music already...

Well I don’t put up a tree but I do decorate my fake Fica Tree, Beautiful manager scene, and Old fashined santa clause standing near by..... Spreading out scented candles gives off a nice warm glow and Christmas scent in the air.......and of course TV fireplace crackling. That’s enough for me..
I put it up when the mood strikes and take it down likewise.
