Congratulations to the Washington Nationals on a great season and an incredible World Series. Game 7 was amazing! @Nationals
"Iowa: We're hiring Coalfire to test our security" Coalfire: "We've successfully breached your security." Iowa: "You're under arrest for breaching our security"
The oldest modern MLB expansion teams to have yet win a World Series include:
1961-Washington Senators/Texas Rangers (W.S. appearances in 2010 and 2011).
1969-Seattle Pilots/Milwaukee Brewers (one World Series appearance in 1982 representing the American League against the St. Louis Cardinals).
1969-San Diego Padres (W.S. appearances in 1984 against the Detroit Tigers and 1998 against New York Yankees).
1977-Seattle Mariners (oldest team to have yet to play in a World Series, as the 1969 Expos/Nationals made their first this season and were victorious).
The longest turnpike to a first ever World Series championship belongs to the Philadelphia Phillies with 77 years. The Phillies joined the National League in 1883 and World Series play was first created between the National and American leagues in 1903. The Phillies did not win their first NL pennant and make their first Series appearance until 1915 and did not do so again until 1950 (The Whiz Kids). Finally, in 1980, the Phillies won that first Series against the Kansas City Royals and made appearances again in 1983 (Baltimore) and 1993 (Toronto) before their second title in 2008 (against Tampa Bay).
Why were Nationals players displaying other countrys flags? Not
A good look.
He does have some comfy pillows to rest on though
I appreciated the caliber of the play all through the series.
You watch games like that, you realize the absolute grit it takes to grind through the regular season and wind up as the last two teams standing.
I love the game. It’s OUR friggin’ AMERICAN GAME!!!! :^)
