Israel Election Results: Biggest Netanyahu Rival Within Likud Says ‘No One Is Challenging’ His Status as Party Leader
Gideon Sa’ar, who Netanyahu has accused of trying to overtake him, said earlier this week he would contend for the No.1 spot should Likud hold a primary election.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s biggest rival within his Likud Party, Gideon Sa’ar, said on Saturday that a move to convene party members to reiterate that the premier is the only appropriate prime ministerial candidate was unnecessary.
“No one is challenging Netanyahu’s role as Likud chairman,” Sa’ar wrote in a statement on Twitter. However, Sa’ar added that “when there is a race for the party leadership, as Netanyahu initiated several days ago, I will contend [for the role].”
However, Netanyahu decided on Friday to walk back his decision to hold a primary election. Netanyahu’s concerns that a different Likud member would try to snatch the mandate to form a government has led him in the past to try to promote legislation that would obligate the president to choose a candidate to form a coalition only among party leaders. The bill was dubbed the “Gideon Sa’ar Law.”
In a statement, Netanyahu wrote that Likud members will be required to back an announcement according to which Likud would only agree to join a government with Netanyahu at its helm, whether for a full term or for a rotating premiership in a deal with any other party. Nonetheless, the party members would not be obligated to determine that Netanyahu must be the first to serve as prime minister is any future rotation agreement...edited.

ICIG complaint alleges Trump-Ukraine whistleblower may be soliciting illicit donations

[M]y client believes ... that the federal employee you are protecting and their attorneys apparently have strategically weaponized their alleged whistleblowing activities into a very lucrative money-making enterprise using a charity incorporated under a different name than the trade name it is using for fund-raising purposes, which would appear to my client to be a clear abuse of the federal employees authority and access to classified information, Gallo wrote in the letter to ICIG Michael Atkinson, the same government watchdog who originally received the Ukraine complaint from the whistleblower.
That paragraph was a reference to Whistleblower Aid, which is also known as Values United, co-founded by Zaid. (Values United tax documents show it paid $258,085 for advertising and consulting services to West End Strategy Team, whose founder Matt Dorf was quoted on the groups website saying he influences progressive politics, skillfully shifting the conversation to achieve the goals of West End Strategy clients.)

There isn't one. Netanyahu was given the first chance to form a government -- which is a coalition of 61 or more seat majority in the Knesset.
Gantz was given the baton and has about a week left on the 28 day deadline to form a government. So, right now there's all kinds of backroom wheeling and dealing going on.
Odds are against Gantz forming a government which means Israel will face a third round of elections in a year.
Netanyahu remains the sticking point for many. Blue & White (Gantz's party) won't form a coalition with Likud if Netanyahu remains the leader of that party and Likud, for the most part, is saying Netanyahu remains the leader.
So right now the Knesset is in session. But with Netanyahu serving as the acting Prime Minister, for all intents and purposes the government is at a standstill. Other than IDF activity, nothing is getting done.
Left out of my first post: Gantz was given the baton after Netanyahu returned it to President Rivlin telling him he (Netanyahu) couldn’t form a government.
Me too!
