Vanity: HOU vs WAS Tonight. Crowd Should Be Interesting.
10/29/2019

There are a lot of very conservative Houston fans and it will be interesting to see if the crowd responds to the crowd booing Trump in Washington a couple nights ago.

Also, I bet Houston will defeat Washington tonight and if they can run the score up they will do it.

Trump should show up tonight for a do-over. That would be hilarious!

I don’t follow. Will Trump be there?

if they can run the score up they will do it.

Baseball doesn't have garbage time. If a team is ahead 8-1 in the 9th inning, and they can score 5 more runs they will always do it.

He not being present, a chant would have to be started and rise organically only in response to the DC chant. First that comes to mind is ‘four more years’, but without him being there, not sure the crowd would want to get political. It’s a big game.

I hope tonight is the FINAL game. I think the Nats took a dive to make the Series last longer. Now I hope the Astros make them permanent losers. I’m pi$$ed at the whole Nat sleazy outfit for dissing my POTUS, too.

I doubt Trump will make an appearance. I usually see 40% or more hispanic crowds at Astros games, so I would not count on a pro-Trump response even if he did show up. However, I doubt that Jim Crane, the team owner would distance himself from the president as the Gnats’ owners did.

Well, if Trump’s not there, and I doubt he will be, then the crowd will

root root for the home team
if they don’t win it’s a shame

There would DEFINITELY be a pro-Trump response, if he were to show up.

I’d love to see POTUS sitting next to Jim. That would be a hoot.

Not going to happen, but it’s fun to imagine :-)

I will still be rooting for the Nats. I’ve been a fan since they came back to DC. I won’t let some rich idiots who have money to attend a world series game and boo our Commander in Chief change that. Unfortunately, I don’t know of too many cities with professional sports teams that President Trump wouldn’t get booed in.

Me too. I have Bible Study on Wednesday nights and it would look bad to keep checking my cell phone for updates during Game 7.

But, cheer up Washington fans - you still have the Redskins to take your minds off your misery.

However, I doubt that Jim Crane, the team owner would distance himself from the president as the Gnats’ owners did.

Crane was golfing buds with Obama when Barry was in office. He did, however, attend the 2017 Worlds Championship ceremony at the White House with Trump there so he is at least comfortable with leaders from both parties.

As conservative as Texas is overall, most of the big cities are dominated by Democrats and Houston is among them. They previously had a lesbian mayor and now have a black mayor who seems over his head.

Yes, according to Wikipedia, “Crane is a supporter of the Democratic Party and frequently golfs with former U.S. President Barack Obama.”. So, I doubt the reaction to the president would be any different here than it was in Washington.
