I had to put my cat to sleep today, he was suffering. What a good boy, I shall miss him. I know he was only a cat, but I sure did love his company. He was an unusual and interesting cat. He worshiped my wife and followed her around as if she were some kind of feline deity, but would deign to spend some time with me as well.
Damn. I sure will miss him.
If they resist taking their medication, try rubbing the throat. It forces them to swallow.
so sorry for your loss
There are three Heavens, the atmosphere and solar system and beyond, a second Heaven (perhaps seen by near death experiencers, and the third Heaven Throne Room of the Almighty. I am convinced our little family members go to the second Heaven to enjoy each other’s company and await our passing.
Sorry for the loss of your cat/friend.
There is no such thing as Just a cat. Most are extraordinarily and bring needed laughter and affection. I lost my guy months ago and I still miss him, the dogs miss him too.
My condolences. Had to have my kitty put to sleep last year.
God willing we shall meet again, and they will not scratch up the furniture in Heaven.
He would have been 20 in August.
Thanks TBP. Yeah, we’ve done that many time throughout the years while wrapping some of them in a towel to save on getting scratched up. Cosmo doesn’t seem to mind his ear medication at all an is getting better.
Sorry to hear this. I miss all my kitties who’ve passed on over the years.
I’m so sorry......I had to put my last 2 down a couple of years ago......they were both over 20, blind and losing hearing amongst other things that getting old will bring. I am consoled ONLY to the fact that they had a wonderful, loving life and didn’t want for anything....but I still miss them terribly......;(
Sorry to hear this, FRiend.
amazing how they become like family. Loosing them is so difficult.
Very sorry to hear, FRiend.
These little guys and gals really are part of our lives.
We had to put our 17 year old chihuahua down earlier this year. Seemed like he was with us forever. I decided that we needed to have a cat/kitty again. Got him/Boomer about 5 weeks ago. Hes a couple of months old and big enough to kinda tear the house apart. Really, really happy with him and he with us.
Sure do understand. Had one like yours who was always interesting. But mine was an Independent. You get maybe one or two in a lifetime. Still miss the old boy.
And it still hurts.
We took our girl Maggie in a towel on her last few rides to the hospital, and there was a towel on Willie’s bed.
He’s been gone a couple of years. Just yesterday, I saw his bed sitting there with his towel still in place, waiting for him.

Prayers for you, I know it is hard. I hope you have a new cat to love sometime soon.
Wife and I lost two cats in July. One had lived nearly 21 years and the other a fourteen year old died soon after.
My wife asked the vet if she knew of an older 5-6 year old cat we could adopt (we’re on either side of 70). Well, she had just saved the life of a cat that the owners’ pit bull tried to kill. They put the cat up for adoption whenever she recovered; I would have kept the cat and sent the pit bull to the county but that’s just me.
We named her Missy and she is a blessing; smart, affectionate, & loves to be around us. Black with traces of white. Could not have done better.
