Legendary singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen says Americans are living in "a frightening time" because of the country's leadership. In an interview with "CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King, Springsteen responded to President Trump's comments at a Minneapolis rally earlier this month on how he "didn't need little Bruce Springsteen" and other celebrities like Beyoncé and Jay Z, who supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
King asked, "So he's going back to 2016. And this is now 2019. You surprised that he's trash-talking you after all this time?" Springsteen laughed.
"Not really. Anything's possible," he said.
"I know. I mean, a lot of people are very concerned about the direction of the country," King said.
It's just frightening, you know? We're living in a frightening time," Springsteen replied. "The stewardship of the nation is has been thrown away to somebody who doesn't have a clue as to what that means ... And unfortunately, we have somebody who I feel doesn't have a grasp of the deep meaning of what it means to be an American."
I watched Springsteen and his hapless fawn on CBS yesterday. Sometimes one subjects himself to AV punishment. Not at all a fan of Springsteen. Would not even ask him to shut up and sing.
Yep he’s BMT but from I’ve learned about him he’s like the rest of the liberal hate America group.
Back in the days of VCR rental stores, I noticed our local store had a listing of new released movies for rent. “Philadelphia” was specifically marked out.
For Bruce being an American means being a communist
Where will we look to for political guidance?
I have never liked Bruce or his music and the older I get the more I dislike him. He has always been an azz circle as far as I am concerned.
Always hated Springsteen. A few good songs, but the rest are “everything’s wrong” downers.
To think there were fools who though Bruce was a conservative back in the 80s.

I put Springsteen in the same bracket. Now Springsteen is no Wagner in terms of his art and I highly doubt anybody will know his music 100 years from now except oddball curators of 20th Century popular music. But I think all of us have to admit that Springsteen and the E Street Band put out some pretty darn good rock and roll music in their day. Also, if Springsteen had the politics and personality of say Ted Nugent, we'd be idolizing him here on Free Republic. That is true statement.
That said, despite his flaws, Wagner was likely a better human being than Springsteen too.
Springstink briefly attended Ocean County College, but dropped out.
Springstink had suffered a concussion in a motorcycle accident when he was 17
Trump is one of the greatest value producers in American history in business and in politics, and springstink is lecturing him
As an "common man" he's lived the pampered life of a rock star since the Nixon Administration.
As a genius, he's a high school dropout.
Puts on a good rock and roll show though.
Who is Bruce Stringbean?
I am tired of people challenging our patriotism.
Maybe people don’t want to hear “Hiring man said son if it was up to me.”
Maybe people don’t want “I’ve got Nowhere to run, Nowhere to go”
This coming from a piece of garbage draft dodging bastard. He ought to shut the hell up.
Springsteen’s song, Born in the USA, is 100% anti-American.
Go back to living under the board walk in NJ from whence you came
That must be the one.
“Legendary singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen”
A legend in his own mind?
