Good choice. When I got downgraded (against my will) to Win10, I had no choice but go to Linux. Every update, every day it got s-l-o-w-e-r and slower. I’m now on Linux and it’s as fast now as the day it was installed.

After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7.

Me, too. MS is killing support in a couple months, but I’m OK with that. The minute MS touches something it chokes.
