Snowflake students at Oxford University are the latest to demand that clapping should be banned because applause noise can trigger anxiety and want 'jazz hands' to be used instead.
The idea for a British sign language alternative for clapping involving the waving of hands was put forward at the student union's first meeting of the year on Tuesday.
Sabbatical Officers Roisin McCallion, Vice President for Welfare and Equal Opportunity and Ebie Edwards Cole, Chair for Oxford SU Disabilities Campaign, successfully passed the motion to mandate the encouragement of silent clapping.

Waiting for a revised version of a movie such as “Darkest Hour” where the clapping, and cheering are replaced by jazz hands. What is the motion ones does to replace jeering, waving the middle finger?
A brilliant comment from the article:
“Does that not then immediately discriminate against the blind / those with impaired sight?”
I’m sure the Italians have one.....................
I blame Bob Fosse for all of this.
No clapping or cheering or smiling or frowning.
Like the old signs at park entrance:
No unleashed dogs,no smoking,no open fires,no consumption of alcoholic beverages no swimming,no motorized cycles,no loud radio or other music.....
Then at the bottom: Have Fun and Enjoy Your Day at the Park!
I would assume they are really afraid of their opposition getting a louder applause then theirs. Therefore, shut all hand clapping down.
That entire country has transitioned to snowflakes, except of course the Muslims.
Not just clapping. Any display of approval or emotion or sound can trigger me and others who are sensitive due to historical racism. /snowflake
Calling good, evil and calling evil, good. It’s the latest fad
The picture of one of the leaders of this “no-clapping” movement in this article appears to have made her hands into the shape of two pistols, which I’m pretty sure is a felony in the UK, or soon will be.
Yet they’ll play music so loud it breaks windows
It are?
Will they institute “low-noise” options at soccer (football) matches? I would love to see them try.
Just another example of snowflake privilege. Fortunately, it’s limited to Oxford at the moment. We will see how these anxiety-ridden students fare when they have to cope with the larger world once they graduate, assuming they can bring themselves to actually leave their “safe spaces.”
Evidently the PC police havent considered those who get anxiety when things are too QUIET.

How about just farting in their general direction?
