Watching ABC local news . A fire is burning in Canyon Country. Moving fast. Approx. 850 acres so far.
Fast moving fire. Wind gusting to 40 mph. There have even been fire tornadoes. They haven't called for evacuations yet . But some are getting out early. FYI
I can see the smoke from my backyard in Simi Valley.
I thought the power outages were only in Northern California.
The power outages are a joke. And not a funny one.
Memo to Sacramento:
You wanted trains. Trains!!!! Meanwhile you have done nothing for forest conservation or your power grid. Might want to think about your priorities for the citizens of your state.
Regards
Is this the Geyserville, Sonoma County fire?
I’m in Northern San Diego county, and we’re run by SDG&E.
So far, they have only mentioned that maybe this would be a good idea in their area as well.
If they choose to do so, they will then understand what a bad idea truly is, IMO.
From where I’m at it looks like another big fire out near Redlands.
And now we can smell the smoke
in Simi Valley.
Closing all windows.
Brought to you by the CA eco-Nazis.
It happens every year just before the rains come.
I am not seeing any smoke in San Diego thank God. We are having desert weather today. The sky is clear and the humidity is very low. Actually the weather is pleasant, like Palm Desert in November. Today San Diego is experience the same weather that the desert areas are having.
Thank you for posting this. I appreciate any updates I see as I have family and friends throughout the state as do other Freepers.
Be safe, Pajamajan and other Cali Freepers!
No one bothers to call out the Governor on responsible topics like this one and infrastructure repair.
@ Ken...No thats a different one North. Its a lot bigger and they shut off power and evacuations too.
The only solution is to turn off power to ALL the state, I guess.
Save the Earth...Don’t wait until the last one leaves
That absolutely worked. Can't blame the power company for the fire if the power was shut down.
Sorry if your water pump didn't work, or your TV or radio, or your solar power, or your electric car.
We don't know that to be the case. Power lines are not the only cause of fires in California or elsewhere. Can't say as I blame PG&E either, as they took it on the chin last year.
California is on the edge of bankruptcy.
There’s some speculating that wild fires are a nifty way to sucker the fed gov into floating the Cali economy for awhile longer.
A brush fire.... has Katie Hill issue a statement on brush control? /bad_humor
