BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
The body of Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney, the 3-year-old girl who was abducted in Birmingham on Oct. 12, was found inside of a dumpster at a landfill, Police Chief Patrick Smith said Tuesday night.
Smith said two persons of interest detained early on in the search, Patrick Stallworth and Derick Brown, will be charged with capital murder and kidnapping in connection with Kamille's disappearance and death.
Stallworth was jailed on child porn charges and later released on a $500,000 bond. His attorney told WVTM 13 his client was "outraged" to have his name linked to kidnapping case.
Brown, who was arrested on kidnapping charges in 2018, remains in jail without bond for probation revocation.
Smith said there is no known between the suspects and Kamille or her family.
"They saw an opportunity to take a young child, and they did," Smith said.
The chief talked about horrific tragedy has sent a message across the country.
"This young child has touched a nation," Smith said. "This young child has definitely sent a message across the nation that we all must be diligent to protect [children]."
Mayor Randall Woodfin asked the city to rally around the McKinney family.

While truly tragic, there is no way to ever completely stop horrors like this from happening.
What rips me apart is when we find out the perp had previous arrests for some pretty vile things and someone thought he/she should get to live among us again and not get life in prison.
The what ifs can eat a family alive, as if they are not dealing with enough.
If they don’t have the balls to execute the POS, at least put him in gen pop. Mess with a child, ALL BETS ARE OFF!
Well, let’s send a “message across the nation “ that we don’t tolerate this and they WILL be executed in short order for it. No sitting in prison for 30 yrs.
Trial, one appeal, then carry out the sentence. That’s much more mercy then they showed that poor baby.
“...at least put him in gen pop...”
I used to think that to, until awhile ago reading a thread about some guy that finally got the death penalty after 20+ years in prison. Raped and killed some little girl.
::Well, lets send a message across the nation that we dont tolerate this and they WILL be executed in short order for it. No sitting in prison for 30 yrs.::

Hear! Hear!
This is heartbreaking, and horrible. I can’t imagine being that family. As a society we should have zero tolerance for this, with the most severe punishment possible.
I'm with you.
But this will get worse.
Wait until the race-baiting, poverty-pimpers get on to it, if they have not already.
Currently, since she was from a "good, clean" family (not my words...supposedly from a PD spokesperson), the rabble-rousers have not gained a foothold.
There is plenty of neighborhood agitation, as one would expect, but the race card, to my knowledge, has not been thrown, yet.
And I say this knowing full well that all particpants are black...but this is Birmingham, AL, where the SJW's will seize on any excuse.
Lot's of speculation and rumors abound, the latest rumor having to do with the bail given one of the perps...relatively low by the standards of some and issued by a WHITE judge.
If I recall correctly, the bail was a half-million dollars...fairly quickly posted and a high-dollar lawyer retained.
I believe the Judge that granted bail is a well-respected black man that has been on the judicial circuit for a long time...but some of these mooks don't let facts get in their way.
May the child rest in peace and may the Grace of God lay upon the parents of this beautiful little child.
Justice will prevail.
Uhm... And the one on the left reminds me of one of the Garbage Pail Kids.
Saw the missing report on LIVE PD. My heart breaks hearing about her demise. I suspected it would have a deadly outcome, but had hope she would be found alive.
The people that can do this, need to be tortured to death.
Dreadful. RIP.
