Global cricketing. Trumps fault
Happens alot down there
I remember seeing it in 1969 while down for basic training at Lackland AFB.
I was amazed the sidewalk was black with them swarming across the cement.
We’ve had two bad cricket infestations in NE Oklahoma-Arkansas in the last 40 years. One in 1979, and one around 2005. The rest of the time they were just nuisances.
Then the year after, came a blister bug infestation.
Too hot — we’re gonna die.
Too cold — we’re gonna die.
“perfect” weather conditions — the crickets are gonna get us.
Good fishing bait...........
Texas should let the Israelites go already. I tell you, it’s only going to get worse . . .
[[”perfect” weather conditions]]
So cyclical global wamrign is now considered ‘perfect’ by the left? Then what are they complaining about?
what’;s the old sayin? “What;s good fer the crickets is good for the... something or other”?
Normal weather blamed for normal insects.
All because Donald Trump was elected.
I remember 2005 as it happened in Missouri too. We were on a day trip and stopped at a brightly lit gas station on a desolate road. Everything was covered. Walking in and out of the store, it was crunch, crunch, crunch.
We’re about due for a cicada year aren’t we? Deafening summer days. Our first year back here(second time moving here), was one of the heat waves and we were off grid in the woods. It’s a wonder we didn’t go mad. 108 degrees with cicadas screaming all day.
Need more lizards
Just like the year Buddy Holly got his start
Crickets are edible. In Mexico, as a food item, they are called “chilaquiles.: They go well with scrambled eggs and chicken...”chilaquiles con huveos revueltos.” When fileted they look like fritos in scramble eggs.
Free and abundant protein for the non animal eaters.
I remember finding a huge mantas and letting my son keep it in a terrarium. I would flip over the garbage cans and a bunch of crickets would jump out. Wed catch them and feed the big mantas. Then things froze around late November and I actually started to buy crickets at the pet store. Around late March the mantas died from old age.
Leave it toTexans to gripe about extra protein, there are lots of starving people trying to cross the border..........
