Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended on Thursday her pricey haircut, claiming the 'right-wing' is 'mad' she looks good while promoting Democratic socialism.
The 29-year-old progressive congresswoman received a $260 haircut and dye last month, the Washington Times revealed in a Wednesday article that criticized the lawmaker for 'preaching socialism while living the life of the privileged.'
'40 million Americans live in poverty under today's extreme inequality, yet the right-wing want you to blame Democratic socialism for their own moral failures,' Ocasio-Cortez posted to her Twitter a day after the report circulated. 'Our policies, like Medicare for All, advance prosperity for working people. They're just mad we look good doing it.'
Ocasio-Cortez, according to the report, received an $80 haircut and $180 low light treatment at Last Tangle Salon in Northwest Washington D.C. in September. The Times noted that with a 20 per cent tip, the total would come out to more than $300.

I think that the hugest reason for some reacting to her spending that kind of money for a haircut is the blatant hypocrisy of her spend HER money on PERSONAL GROOMING when she wants the REST of us to forego our little pleasures to “Feed the poor”.
I don’t dare what she spends her money on, but she shouldn’t berate others for similar actions.
Just think how many the church soup kitchens could feed for $312. She wants to tax the hell out of us while spending $312 for a haircut.
I agree. She is very attractive and has made some nice gestures with Ted Cruz et al...calling out the NBA on their submission to China and other such things.
So It’s a shame she is on the other side. She exhibits all the qualities of a tried and true capitalist entrepreneur. That is the irony.
