...And your newest object definition of “Frivolous Lawsuit” is brought to you by the Law Society of Upper Canada...
Smh
Control your children.
It’s that simple.
I might get some flack for saying this but I think it's rather sad to see a grown man playing at these games.
Not a "good look" guys.
If they don't eat, they'd be dead soon.
They likely didn't shower anyway.
Let 'em go.
Adios, go die in your stink.
My grandfather had a permanent cure for that condition................hurt like hell though, but required only one treatment.....................
“The other parent says in the filing that their 15-year-old son quickly developed an addiction to Fortnite.’”
Being that the kid 15, i’m guessing that the parents provide the home and the computer and the the Fornite software as well as internet connection.
Now, would these same parents provide their 15 year old child with a 8-ball of cocaine, a small mirror and a straw?
If Fortnite is as bad as cocaine, why not just supply the kid with an 8-ball?
I used to hear this and worse about Dungeons & Dragons.
I’ve never been into such games, so not sure if there is much truth to either. I do know, anyone can become hooked on most any type of interaction, be it real or artificial.
First thing to go when that happens, is the desire for Social Interaction. People can even use daily exercise as a means for personal fulfillment. Some end of preferring exercise over sitting with a family member or friend.
In other cases, the object of fascination is their new Apple cell phone.
Parents fault...take away the fing phone for a few days or weeks, let the spoiled rotten little SOB learn about the outdoors, and he will be fine. The parents failed here, not the video game maker.
“One parent claims in the filing that their 10-year-old son has been playing the game almost daily for months and becomes very frustrated and angry”
Hint: That is not Fortnite’s problem. That is just too much hands-off parenting. Set the boundaries early. If you just let the kid play that much for that long he will set his own boundaries.
Maybe the problem is there is a lot of $$$$ to be won in professional gaming these days a lot of kids think if I just practice enough I can cash in on that dream.
Smash the console.
Take the cell phone.
Be a parent.
Can anyone here recommend a good lawyer?
I want to start a class action lawsuit against all the manufacturers of forks. They have made tens of millions of people fat, and caused millions of early deaths due to obesity related problems..
OK, this is a classic from years ago but seems fitting here. Mom cancels kids WOW account. People thought this was real at first and the kid made many more freakout vids on the channel. Even got some TV invites. Perhaps he deserves an Oscar.

WTH?
are they serious?
DO YOUR JOB!!!
*worst parents EVER*
One parent claims in the filing that their 10-year-old son has been playing the game almost daily for months and becomes very frustrated and angry whenever the parent tries to limit his playing time.
Well hell you are doing it wrong. One, be the adult! Two, Don’t limit the game, take the frigging thing away. Make the youngster earn it back with set time amounts and condition for use. Three again be the parent. If the youngster violate or abuse the rules the game goes into the trash and he can buy ho own when he is old enough!
So basically it’s a digital “Dungeons and Dragons.”
This is total complete bull crap
my kids are nine and 12 and they were in this game for about a year and I kept asking him hey when are you guys going to be over this?
and they got over it about six months ago
dont even play anymore now
and are in the Pokémon they chase a little Pokémons around the neighborhood with your iPhones in groups of like 10 kids
much better because now theyre outside
fortnight is actually a pretty cool game and there was a lot of socialization involved
I’ve played it. The ‘building’ part of the game really sucks, IMO.
This is ridiculous. I grew up with almost everything from Intelevision to XBox One, and I don’t care who you are, it’s not physiologically addictive. People get sucked in and don’t realize how much time has passed, so it happens, but the number of people who endure a constant need for the feeling of success one gets from making accomplishments in a game will try to get their attention fix anywhere. They’ll seek it out anywhere they can.
When it comes to kids, limit screen time. It’s that simple.
