Three major sexually-transmitted diseases reached a historic high in infection cases in 2018, according to a new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The combined number of cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis have continued to increase, reaching what the CDC described as “an all-time high in the United States in 2018.”
According to a report released Tuesday, the CDC found that from 2017 to 2018, chlamydia cases increased 3 percent to more than 1.7 million cases, the highest number of such cases ever reported to the CDC.
Gonorrhea cases increased 5 percent to more than 580,000, which is the highest reported number since 1991. There were also 115,000 syphilis cases, with the number of “secondary syphilis cases” increasing by 14 percent to more than 35,000 cases, the highest reported number since 1991.
CDC attributed the rise in the three STDs to multiple factors, among them drug use and poverty, decreased condom usage among groups including young people and gay men, and state and local government cuts to STD programs.
“STDs can come at a high cost for babies and other vulnerable populations,” said Jonathan Mermin, M.D., M.P.H., director of CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention in a statement released Tuesday.
“Curbing STDs will improve the overall health of the nation and prevent infertility, HIV, and infant deaths.”

I was homeless for 4 years and never went around looking for a STD with drugs nor sex. That being said, I saw plenty of women being homeless for a couple of days until they found a man in their phone to hitch a ride in a house with.
It has nothing to do with homelessness but prostitutive dependent behavior.
Weren’t they just clamoring Aids was declining and near curable? Maybe people do not die of AIDS but people with AIDS die of hepatitis?
In any case, this rise might have to do with people deciding recklessly they are safe when they are not. How much does this all cost? It is insane. My bet is the people getting sick are often not employed and societal parasites to boot.
Homosexuals are not rational. Men on their own are crazy when it comes to sex and when it’s men with men, it’s beyond crazy. The whole reason that STS and HIV in particular took off, was the frenetic indiscriminate sex practices of the homo “culture”.

Indeed. Homosexuality is a tropical behavior now coming to all aspects into the comforts of modern life. An anthropologist noted that in the hard winter North, men had only very few occasion for sex and most of the rest was hard work that prevented even the wish to expand energy on sexuality.
The same goes for my experience in the military. When a man truly works hard, he cannot even find the energy to masturbate, period. There would be no pedophilia problem in the church if the Church leadership put these men priests to work for real for the poor instead of smiling about peace while doing nothing like hypocrites.
