On Friday, Darcy Krueger, 17, showed up at the Tampa Bay Homeschool Homecoming Dance wearing a black jumpsuit, but was turned away because of a dress code.

Darcy, who has been entirely homeschooled except for one semester of middle school, has attended many events thrown by the organization behind the homecoming dance, TampaBay Homeschool Prom, her mother tells Yahoo Lifestyle. But this time, she was sent away for failing to wear a dress.

Darcy, who has been entirely homeschooled except for one semester of middle school, has attended many events thrown by the organization behind the homecoming dance, TampaBay Homeschool Prom, her mother tells Yahoo Lifestyle. But this time, she was sent away for failing to wear a dress.

"I was very surprised," Darcy told ABC Action News. "I called my mom and I was telling my friends about it because I couldn't really believe it."

Melissa tells Yahoo Lifestyle that it was the private event organizer who sent her daughter away, also refusing to discuss the matter. The event’s Facebook page appears to have been removed.

She’s beautiful and that jumper, along with the jewelry and shoes, is very elegant.

Agreed. That attire is almost Melania worthy. Very tasteful.

Hubba Hubba!

Another old timer. Good to see the old language is still remembered.

And yes, the girls weren’t dressed that well back around ‘62.

And you know, I’m 87, but I think all in all the girls are prettier today. I guess the old song about the girls looking better at closing time is true. :-)

Get over it. The invitation said ‘dress’, not jumper, not pantsuit, not tennis shorts. Maybe since she is homeschooled, she’s not used to following those kinds of directions.
If she didn’t agree with the invitation, then don’t go.
Have your own private ‘Jumper Jamboree’.

I agree about the attire. However, while not
a prude I wouldn’t be crazy about that choice
of poses if I was her parent.

Very pretty. She doesn't give off the lesbo 'I don't wear dresses' vibe.

But this is not about her, or what she's wearing. It's about petty tyrants being petty tyrants.

The jumpsuit probably more tasteful than the porn dresses over developed, surgically enhance girls wear to HS events these days.

My bride, who is pushing 80 in age, after she lost her baby fat (her words describing her two pregnancies) is still the same size when we got married.

When she got back to her original size, she wanted a designer jump suit for special events. I bought her a black designer jump suit. Which she still wears.

About 10 years ago I bought her a white designer jump suit. Which she still wears.

Many of our female friends in the same age group have designer jump suits.

So ...

While I personally find that outfit fetching ...

IT IS NOT a "semi-formal dress", or any other kind of dress, as required by the private entity's published dress code.

She hasn't a leg to stand on ... the organization was correct in it's actions.

She looks great, not shabby nor cheap. She will thank these idiots for launching her modeling career:

“She’s beautiful and that jumper, along with the jewelry and shoes, is very elegant.”

The event had a dress code. She didn’t follow it. Why is this news? If you don’t want to play by the rules, expect to not be allowed to play.

Yes. And they were very specific about the type of dress allowed. This shouldn’t even be news unless the headline was......Student Didn’t Follow Dress Code so Turned Away.
