She’s beautiful and that jumper, along with the jewelry and shoes, is very elegant.

She’s beautiful, chic & modest. That was just wrong.

Get over it. The invitation said ‘dress’, not jumper, not pantsuit, not tennis shorts. Maybe since she is homeschooled, she’s not used to following those kinds of directions.
If she didn’t agree with the invitation, then don’t go.
Have your own private ‘Jumper Jamboree’.

Very pretty. She doesn't give off the lesbo 'I don't wear dresses' vibe.

But this is not about her, or what she's wearing. It's about petty tyrants being petty tyrants.

The jumpsuit probably more tasteful than the porn dresses over developed, surgically enhance girls wear to HS events these days.

My bride, who is pushing 80 in age, after she lost her baby fat (her words describing her two pregnancies) is still the same size when we got married.

When she got back to her original size, she wanted a designer jump suit for special events. I bought her a black designer jump suit. Which she still wears.

About 10 years ago I bought her a white designer jump suit. Which she still wears.

Many of our female friends in the same age group have designer jump suits.

So ...

While I personally find that outfit fetching ...

IT IS NOT a "semi-formal dress", or any other kind of dress, as required by the private entity's published dress code.

She hasn't a leg to stand on ... the organization was correct in it's actions.

The event had a dress code. She didn’t follow it. Why is this news? If you don’t want to play by the rules, expect to not be allowed to play.

Classy look. Why do people think prom dresses are supposed to look ridiculous? She’s dressed just fine.

Pathetic.

I just looked through pages of homecoming dresses for a friend...current in style for homecoming. There were several styles of jumpsuits included.

So that is the fashion now, I am not sure what the issue was. If they had a dress code were they clear about what they were allowing?

I have to say many of the dresses I looked at would not meet my dress code. I wouldn’t have allowed my daughter to wear them around the house much less to a homecoming dance. Many VERY revealing dresses, missing a lot of fabric.

The jumpsuit she has on in the picture seems fine to me. Did they not think it was dressy enough? I noticed when I was looking there was a range of dressiness from pretty casual to formal.

From what I found there are a lot of options that are in style so they needed a clear dress code.

Why do I believe an H-> button accessorizing that outfit would have made it ok?

She looks beautiful and why would they want her to dress like Laura Ingalls?

The 1890’s want their moral code back.

Why not make her dress up in a beehive keeper costume?

The problem that I see in the picture is that it’s not very lady like. I am not prudish but close the legs just as it’s just as stupid when guys do it (man spreading). Woman spreading is still spreading. I am probably over analyzing and off base in vanity but if she were my daughter I would cringe.

THIS is a "jumpsuit". The young lady did technically violate the "plunging neckline" prohibition, but compared to the above (the kind of thing she'd she in Vogue), her outfit looked more like a karate robe.
