Trump dumps Ukraine call on Rick Perry
Washington Examiner ^ | 10/5/19 | Daniel Chaitin

President Trump told Republicans that Energy Secretary Rick Perry encouraged him to have the phone call with Ukraine's president that flung his presidency into chaos.

During a conference call with GOP lawmakers in the House on Friday, Trump claimed he did not even want to have the July 25 conversation in which he urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate his political rivals. A clash over a U.S. intelligence official's whistleblower complaint that raised concerns about this phone call paved the way for House Democrats to launch an impeachment inquiry.

Bummer. Perry turned out to be another Bush league disappointment.

I hope President Trump can fill his cabinet with good solid like-minded people soon and through his second term.

What a BS headline. President Trump told the truth, and Perry confirmed it. So that is hardly dumping, no matter how you slice and dice it.

The Washington Examiner. Piling on? First Tucker now this.

Some staffer listening to a conference?

The President did not tweet about blaming Perry. I hope this is bogus.

Here's a real conspiracy theory. A few years back Texas based Valero Oil split off their transportation division into a separate corporation and went into a worldwide "deepwater terminal" project. They're getting ready to go into production and guess who's going to be their "consultant".

That's almost as good as: Slant/directional drilling that makes fracking possible was no technological innovation but years of experience from the "good ol' boys" out in West Texas stealing oil from each other.

Now we understand why Perry is resigning now.

More lies in this piece. Lazy reporting. Trump did NOT ask them to investigate his political opponent.

...conversation in which he urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate his political rivals

What politically-written garbage. The author deliberately implies that Trump had bad intentions. He does not mention that Zelensky brought up the topic.

What was Trump supposed to do at that point? Insult Zelensky by ignoring the topic? Belittle Zelensky by acting as if the topic were of no concern?

Trump was being gracious in following Zelensky’s lead. The conversation was nothing more than that, and any true ‘journalist’ would recognize that fact.
