Twitter took down a meme tweeted by President Donald Trump, in which the music video for Nickelback's hit 2005 song "Photograph" was edited to attack former Vice President Joe Biden.
Trump tweeted the clip Wednesday. At the moment where singer Chad Kroeger holds up a photo frame, the image was edited to show Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and a Ukrainian gas company board member, seeming to cast doubt on assertions by Biden that he never spoke to Hunter about his business overseas.

There is a world of difference between “it is an argument Trump could use in court” and any basis in legislated or adjudicated law.
Yes, all my children are older than that.
Again, please show mw where “censoring official state media” (and God help if we have such a thing)?
LOL, you win.
Great, So send my prize to the old folks home. One of the staff will be happy to steal it.
I’ll send weed and whiskey...
Twitter cant handle the truth.
Trump’s tweet is still there.
The video that he linked to was removed.
Might have to watch those later.
Once a court has found a certain way that IS legal precedence absent of any actual law (which afaik there arent any laws about interactive media and government officials except where they account as official government records - maybe)
So they say the photo was edited to make it seem like the Biden photo isn’t real, but in reality, they just mean it was edited from the original nickelback video...which everyone knew already.
Copyright claim? what a joke!
Again - for the third time - The court ruled that Trumps tweets are considered official public statements as coming from the actual government of the US (state media). Twitters removing of Trumps post is de-facto censoring government statements.
I dont agree with the ruling - its a stupid ruling and it was politically made so that Trump couldnt block posters responding to his tweets ON HIS WALL - but the judges rationale is written such that Twitter is now a de-facto government entity when it involves government officials rather than a private Twitter user.
(Although it looks like Twitter didnt delete the post - but the original that Trump retweeted which is a different issue)
Not before it got almost 400k likes.
Mission accomplished!
Nicklebacks Hoo Hoo hurt and they filed a DMCA takedown I suspect but we will see if the Twitter wankers did it on their own.
Anything under 30 seconds is considered “fair use” and would be considered a Parody, and nobody sold the work.
They have no case
But that doesn’t mean Twatter won’t take it down
[Anything that makes Nickelback go away is good.]
Heh, true.....
Twitter is still run by Leftists, of course. /Captain Obvious
Not that you didn’t know that. Bet they’ll delete more going into 2020.
Im sure you graduated at the top of your law school class but the Supreme Court said absolutely nothing about Twitters responsibilities to anybody. Theyre a private company and can do what they want.
Actually the Supreme Court didnt rule on it yet.
Twitter may be a private company but theyre now ordered not to let Trump block users because Trump is a public official so much for private company that can do what they want. (You may have also read that Facebook and YouTube recently announced that their rules of conduct do NOT apply to government posters - thats a direct outcome of this ruling)
Third - again - its a legal precedent that the courts found that government users on private systems are de-facto government operations - that has fallout and real legal side effects even if the ruling didnt discuss them.
