Researchers have been in a race to find ways to improve lithium-ion batteries. They are also looking to develop alternatives to the lithium-ion battery that would be lower cost and more sustainable to manufacture. And they may just have found one.
Aluminum-based batteries would be cheaper to make, because aluminum is the third most abundant element in the Earths crust after oxygen and silicon. Aluminum is also light-weight and could be ideal for use in batteries.

I can see from this article that another month has passed, and, golly, the battery problem has been revolutionized and solved, again, for the 24th time in 2 years.
We cook Chinese ourselves now, after learning how on Youtube - mostly because we enjoy cooking and like knowing what goes in the food we eat.

Tractor Supply handles the Energizer line of batteries - which I have in my ZT mower - not sure where they're made. A Energizer battery which fits my ATV is over $100, if they'd had one in stock. But the mower battery sure has held up well.

I also avoid aluminum cans. I can taste the ions. Supposedly, “experts” favor cans over bottles, since the former are more air-tight, and light-proof; bottled always tastes better to me, and I do not get the aluminum.
I have studied nutrition for thirty years. As far as I know, aluminum indeed plays no role in human physiological processes.
They want you to recycle glass and plastic though. Id ditch those unless they turn a profit.

And the solutions - special connectors - are not too expensive , but too many idiots are just ignorant to know to use them.
Someone should do some cognitive testing on aluminum vs. bottles. I’d swear those drinking from cans act a lot crazier. lol
Yeah, they are somewhat more expensive but this battery lives in the cab not the back so lead-acid is no-go. It primarily powers the 110 inverter and the 12v HAM radios.
It also charges the phones and the LED flashlights with the USB power bank.
It’s a Bioenno Power 12V, 50Ah LFP Battery.
Charging is from a 100 watt solar panel mounted on the camper shell and the system is one >>> handy <<< upgrade to the truck.
The regular starter battery is a Duracell Automotive Battery - Group Size 48 (I think) and it spins the starter about twice as fast as the original factory battery.
Trying to figure out a bridge device in case I need to charge the starter battery from the internal/solar system.

That justifies the additional cost, in my book too. I have two marine lead/acid batteries inside my camper, also charged via a solar cell, or vehicle/external power source, but they are vented to the outside. Even so, the alarm will sound inside when they start going bad and producing excessive hydrogen sulfide gas - happened at least twice so far. I always replace both of them - may look into your suggestion for future replacements.
You should be able to come up with a bridge of some sort. Mine works the other way around - the vehicle charges the camper batteries - and cuts out if the vehicle battery voltage drops too low. I carry a set of jumper cables that will reach from inside the camper through a window to the vehicle battery. I just realized I may have created the ultimate, unlimited power source, by hooking them up this way. ;)

I’ve seen a couple of his videos, one on cold welding nano-particles to aluminum and one on casein plastic.
I wish he’d invent a cheap way to weld aluminum— say cold fusing tin on the surface and then soldering with silver, tin solder. The zinc-based solders are iffy.
Anyway, I checked out his channel. I’ve got a lot of YouTub’n to do.
