Here's the 'problem':
I inherited at work a Windows 10 computer to use from another worker who has gone on to better job somewhere else.
The problem is the Outlook Email still has HIS contacts list, both work and personal, and I cannot get rid of any of them.
I go to the 'PEOPLE' section and go through the right clicks on the OLD CONTACTS, but the 'DELETE' function is grayed out and will not do anything. It won't let me edit any either.
Anyone else have this problem? And if so, how do you fix it?............................
Thanks in advance,
Red Badger
Is it Outlook email at Outlook.com or the Outlook app in MS Office 365?
Hubby is running Outlook 365 on Windows 10 and has had some issues with it randomly not launching for about a week. (I’m SO glad I gave him that POS Windows 10 that used to be mine.)

Windows 10 Email....................
Oh. I didn’t know there was such an animal. (I’m old.)
It’s new with Windows 10.
It is linked to a Windows App called “People” that contains all your contacts and shares them with other apps, like Office, so that if you type the first few letters of that contact in a letter or email it automatically inserts that contacts. I turned it off and deleted it, thinking that was the problem but the old contacts from the previous user are still there...................
When in Outlook, you should be able to go under File > Account Settings, and click on Account Settings. Then look at the “Email” tab. You should be able to see and remove the previous user’s account from Outlook. Alternately, you can completely uninstall the Microsoft Office suite in its entirety - but just removing the email account from Outlook is a lot easier.
Not Outlook, Windows 10 Email......................
Start Outlook in Administrator mode (Right click shortcut select “Run As”) and the option should work.
Not Outlook................Windows 10 Email is a different app..................
I called it ‘Outlook’ because that is what I had in my previous computer, Windows 7.........It’s a whole different animal..........
BTT - I don’t use outlook but was happy to see this thread - just yesterday I was trying to help someone who had some computer challenges with Windows 10. Was able to help her with everything except your same issue. She was given a laptop and can’t delete the old contacts. I’ll read through this later and hopefully can give her an answer.
I even went so far as to delete the ‘People’ app, since Windows Help told me it was really my ‘contact’ list.
Didn’t help! the contacts still showed up even after deletion!.....................
