Windows 10 Email problem
Microsoft Window 10 | 10/02/2019 | Red badger

Posted on 10/02/2019 10:37:45 AM PDT by Red Badger

Here's the 'problem':

I inherited at work a Windows 10 computer to use from another worker who has gone on to better job somewhere else.

The problem is the Outlook Email still has HIS contacts list, both work and personal, and I cannot get rid of any of them.

I go to the 'PEOPLE' section and go through the right clicks on the OLD CONTACTS, but the 'DELETE' function is grayed out and will not do anything. It won't let me edit any either.

Anyone else have this problem? And if so, how do you fix it?............................

Thanks in advance,

Red Badger

His job in no way interfaced with mine. Anything that he did that was important to the company would be on the network.

This is a lot of personal junk and stuff I have to try and delete. It’s not real big deal, just annoying...........

“but the ‘DELETE’ function is grayed out”

Sounds like you need to add administrator privileges to your account.

If it’s your computer and not the company’s use the widows 10 fresh install feature but you may lose software installing by the other person

Contacts are usually associated with the email account itself, so if you are seeing his contacts, are you using his old email account?

You might need to go to Mail setup under Control Panel and then remove his account and add your own.

Outlook Email may have smtp connection with a remote contact list, Then you would need to delete the mail server connection outlook.

I am going through all of this Widow’s 10 conversion also. Microsoft is no longer supporting windows7. My home computer is 10 and I hate it! More than windows 8.

They just keep making crap with a focus on streaming music, videos, and games because that is all everyone is interested in.

Sounds ridiculous on the surface, just wipe it and start over.

Download and use Thunderbird. Then start or import your own contacts list. Then uninstall Outlook. Or simply dump what you can in the Recycle bin.

Thunderbird is much like Outlook and much more secure anyway.

And for special occasions you can mix Champale and Ripple.

It's called Champipple.

You can also use a hammer, 357mag, or a 12 Guage or a drop down a flight of stairs.

If you copy it first and check the contents your job security may be enhanced.
