In the summer of 2018, a transgender student at West Point High School in West Point, Va., had transitioned, asking his French teacher to refer to him with masculine pronouns: he, him, his. But the instructor, Peter Vlaming, did not comply, he said in a lawsuit. Citing his religious beliefs, he promised to use only the students name and avoid pronouns entirely. Administrators eventually gave the teacher an ultimatum: Use the students correct pronouns, or face disciplinary action, he said.
Then, on Oct. 31, 2018, his second-year French students wore virtual-reality goggles and walked around the classroom. The transgender student seemed about to crash when the teacher told another student to help their classmate.
Dont let her hit the wall, Vlaming shouted.
That was the last straw for the student, who withdrew from Vlamings class. But it was also the last straw for school officials, who suspended the teacher for insubordination, and from the school board, which later fired him, citing how Vlaming had repeatedly ignored orders from his bosses.

He must sue these idiots into Hell whence they came.......................
Gee, a case in which the teachers union didnt intervene?
I found that amazing as well, rape a student, the union sticks up for the teacher and turns it into a multi year long investigation where the teacher gets full pay and benefits.
Call a student by the wrong pronoun, fired that evening, get out of here right now and the union just walks by whistling Dixie
I dunno, why not just use the pronouns? If its school policy, then do so.
So is he required by the board to use (and teach) the French language incorrectly?Ok, kids, “il” is “he” and “elle” is she, unless elle thinks she should be an il, in which case the rule get changed to suit il/elle.
Don’t misunderstand, as a teacher, I want the student to be comfortable. I might not use its preferred pronouns but perhaps its last name, but if to stop a potential injury I would likely revert to the real pronoun, without meaning to call offense. I don’t think he was defying the board in this instance.
I once had a student named Alexia. But she insisted it was pronounced Al ex i a with the stress on the i. Couldn’t do it. I called her ‘Al’ or by her last name and she was fine with it. I thought it was just a affectation. But she was/is Greek and she was pronouncing it in the Greek style. I started saying it her way.
just start using the word "it" from now on
Teen girls are already nuts.
Having one who thinks she is a guy is Postal Nuts.
I had a mother tell me:
“The goal of parents is to keep their boys from killing themselves and to keep from killing their daughters.”
I have no optimism for the future based on this kind of thing.
This is a public employee that is being discriminated against by the State due to religious beliefs.
It is that simple.
This absolute INSANITY has to stop. Somebody’s “feelings” do not trump SCIENCE.
Without gay marriage this wouldn’t even be happening.
I’ve known many bulls...but they were all four legged.
You can always call them “Comrade”. It’s gender neutral, and it’s what they will be called if their little socialist dreams come true.
just say ‘hey you’ to everyone... works for me!
Mental Patients should not be in public schools.
We are forced by laws opposed by rats to entertain the mentally ill
My brother and I were discussing that last week. He teaches high school and only uses last names when taking attendance and never, ever refers to the kids by any sort of name after that.
Pathetic
The Mark of the Christian was required reading in my high school (a “non-denom”).
