TOMBALL, Texas The disturbing story of an 8-year-old Tomball boy who was beaten unconscious at school Tuesday struck a chord with parents across the nation.
Christian Boynton, a third-grader, was ambushed when he arrived at Lakewood Elementary School, according to Kailee Boynton, his sister.
"They pinned my brother down. They were beating him. They beat him to the point of unconsciousness, where they continued to beat him," Kailee said. "They went through his backpack."
Christian was rushed to Texas Children's Hospital after being found unconscious in the bathroom.
Neurologists treated him for a brain bleed and monitored him for several hours before he was allowed to return home. He is expected to be okay.
Many on social media questioned whether the bullies who attacked Christian should be charged with assault. Others want their parents held accountable.
Tomball police say they assisted with the investigation, but determined the students involved are too young to be criminally culpable. Under Texas law, children under 10 cannot be prosecuted for committing crim

I went to a school in a prairie state.
It happened.
Perhaps you misunderstand what a rough school is.
They should sue them all - School, BoE/County, and parents.
Yes, a protected race.
In the third grade kids were knocked unconscious in you school? Well thats rough.
I grew up in the 50s. Started HS in 62. We had tough kids, bullies. People would get into fights walking home. But it ended when someone went down hard and called uncle. Kicking and biting and using devices was called dirty fighting.
Under Texas law, children under 10 cannot be prosecuted for committing crimes.
Potbulls don’t care about law. Get 2, rent a van and wait for the punks. Release the hounds.
Now THAT is strange!
BTW, I was at Polk when it was still 5th ID :)
Trust me on this! Children (?) like this will be in jail or dead by now. They do not grow out of it without intervention.
I grew up in the 80s. School fights were pretty lame. Kids standing around pushing each other and calling each other names. Very rare for an actual punch to be thrown.
What they are not telling you is that there are/were kids incarcerated in the Texas Juvenile Justice system as young as eight. So, yeah, they could do some time behind bars.
I recognized the last name, and the Boston accent.
Every duty station I’ve been to, I’ve either run into someone I knew from a previous duty station or basic training.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
So that he can get arrested, sued and taken away from his son? Think...
I appreciate your courage.
So that he can get arrested, sued and taken away from his son?
Only if he gets caught.

I would like to see the law changed - if the perp is old enough to do the crime, they are old enough to do the time.
Thanks. I have not really thought of that day much until I read this, and it triggered my memory. Those kids were not fooling around. They were going to kill him...you could see it. That kid was so brutally bullied day in & day out. He took some terrible beatings. The school, as far as I remember...did not do much except wish it away.
I’m not sure; but by the time we entered Jr. high school his family either moved away or sent him to private school...I don’t remember now. Sad situation.
