The salacious texts came out in court testimony during the trial a few months ago.
Yes, Raniere used his slave to recruit and groom other slaves, all of which would be in thrall to him.
An associated bit of evidence at the trial was that he envisioned a pyramid-like recruiting structure that would ultimately result in (he estimated) at least three million women all loyal to him.
He organized his slaves with their own ‘pods’. Each slave in a slave pod would recruit their own slaves and work toward getting their own pod.
