A hair stylist has revealed that we should only wash our hair once a week - and we can just use water to rinse it in between washes.
Paul Windle, owner of Windle London, reveals that if you wash your hair too much you get a rebound effect and the scalp keeps making more oil - therefore making it look and feel more greasy.
The top stylist also revealed that if our hair does feel dirty then a simple rinse with water can be just as effective as using a product, as shampoos and conditioners just loosen any dirt in the hair.
When you do come to washing your hair you should also note how much shampoo you're using: 'If it's not foamy enough, add more water, not more product and massage it in,' Paul said.
Paul, who has just launched a hair lab in the Lake district where all of Windle London's products are formulated, also revealed his other top tips to Femail around hair care, including what product ingredients we should avoid and how to talk to your hairdresser to avoid any hair disasters.

Cast iron. You just don’t use soap. Mostly I use hot water and a plastic scrubber.
Hey Moe,Larry ...it ain’t Saturday night yet ? I use Ivory soap every day ...just the bar and once in a blue moon conditioner...to wash it just once a week is what the unclensed Euro trash used to do..No Thanks.
Yeah -— “rain” —— what’s that? Here in the NE it is just a memory of the past!
Did you notice that watching European programs... all the guys have dirty hair and are unshaven. They have dirty, wrinkled clothes and they look like they have been wearing them and sleeping in them for months!
It’s EVERYONE!
The girls are as bad. It’s like a contest who can most look like a refugee. Dirty... nasty looking as if personal hygiene is a bad thing!
If you are a man, unless you workout you should only shower 3 times a week.
Oh hell no! Have to start every day with a shower, Often even before yard work. If the ladies need something to sniff, Ive got plenty of aroma for them to enjoy.
Well, next time, avoid sleeping with the French Whore.
The real reason to ‘shower’ is that there are millions of creatures on your body, and they all poop. That is where the smell comes from.

The pictures at the link how some greasy looking hair.
As far as it not smelling, they have probably become immune to their own hair smell.
It would be up to others to determine if their hair smelled or not. A more objective opinion would help.
I HATE greasy old man hair smell.
NATSY!!!!
I only wash my hair once a week now and my scalp itches like crazy. It isn’t dandruff either. I’ve tried every bit of advice concerning hair products too. Try finding a competent dermatologist who treats the scalp-good luck!
As a retiree with not much to do except yard work this article on not washing my hair has has given me and idea which I think I will test!
When I was a kid, the smell of a person walking by that was unwashed and whose clothes were oily with bodily residue... we called that smell... crack stink.
When your whole body and your hair and your clothes smell like your butt crack it’s time to take a shower!

What KIND of women??

So you stink and look gross for weeks as your hair (which is made up of dead cells) gets “use” to it?
What pans might that be? The old wives tale about not washing cast iron? I restore cast iron and use it for everything. Washing a cast iron pan, even with Dawn soap, doesn’t harm them in the least - so long as they have been properly seasoned. What kills them is leaving soap and/or water in them sitting. NEVER do that.
