Yeah, well, the line we bought into in the 60s was that so many pollutants were being spewed into the air we were absolutely going to block out the sun's rays which would cause an ice age and we're all going to die.
What did that mean to me? It meant my first ever new muscle car, a 1973 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland, an otherwise solid motor, only put out a little over 100 horsepower.
Plus, we never had an ice age. Next thing I know, it's now global warming. Dweebs.

I sent this to one of my idiot relatives who is a Disciples of Climate cultist.
The children who skipped school today to protest the weather are responsible for an additional 411 million tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. This shortened the time it will take for Climate Change to destroy the Earth from 11.34871 years to 11.34655years. Thanks a lot Greta.

James P. Lodge, Jr. went on to have a long career at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).
He was still there in 1985.
To his credit, he was skeptical of the science of Global Warming.
He died on December 14, 2001.
