A teenage student put her Minnesota High School on blast in a viral Facebook post showing her abysmal school lunch, outraging fellow students and parents alike.
Maryn Holler, a student at Apollo High School in St. Cloud, shared photos of her disheartening meal in a September 13 post that has been shared more than a 1000 times and has received more than a 1000 reacts.
The meal consists of what appears to be a hot dog bun covered in cheese with a pile of carrots and a small container of apple sauce.

St Cloud is, sadly, a magnet for illegal aliens.
I remember my school lunches back in the day made with government surplus commedities. Our cook often made chili which was bland but edible, however, you dredded being in line when they changed the steam trays as the new batch of chili often had a thick oil slick of grease that was served to the next unlucky student in line.
We still reminisce about school rolls! The ultimate! Fresh outta the oven. We could go back for seconds, too. Was the 1960s. If you brought an extra dime you could get an ice cream sandwich, Nutty Buddy, Creamsicle or a Brown Mule on your way back to class!
The public school where I work serves good food and lots of it. Every child eats a free breakfast and lunch due to Hurricane Harvey. If a child brings a lunch, no one EVER takes it away or questions it. If a parent brings a burger from Sonic, the child gets it. I live in SE Texas.
1) Quality of the education
2) Quality of the social atmosphere
3) Quality of the school lunches
The best thing about government schools is 3) Quality of the school lunches
Mustard?
The Wookie is to blame for that being taken away from the schoolkids...all the while stuffing her own face with Maine Lobster and Kobe Beef. Washed down with a quart of Stoly.
Halal...my supermarket has a special counter for halal chicken. I used to surreptitiously fill my basket with packs of bacon, scoot over to the halal stuff, and put the bacon packs on top of the chicken.
Bless me, Father, for I have sinned!
Freedom!
Chicken Nuggets are people!!!!!
Chicken Nuggets are people!!!!!
Occasionally we’d get something like that at Catholic school when the cook would forget it was Friday!
I certainly hope you feel as chastened as you should.
Calling someone a liar when they are making a statement of fact is frowned upon here.
This isn’t Democratic Underground. Most folks here actually KNOW what they are talking about.
Good grief! Even the worst of Army chow in the 70’s was better than this...

Ditto!
I do that too, in the frozen section.
“oops, I don’t need these frozen ribs. I’ll put them in THIS freezer, since it’s closest and I don’t want to cause it to go off...”
I worked at a county jail for 11 years. The food sucked, but was far better than the food in those photos.
When I was in school, everything was homemade by the lunch ladies, and it was delicious. Also, they used government commodities, of which there are plenty, for a lot of foods. The problem is, now, instead of cooks in the kitchen, school systems use big companies like Aramark, which makes foods for many hospitals, but apparently sells the school systems vending machine grade foods. Substandard tacos, pizza, and a lot of “convenience” foods, with little nutrition. Anyone knows it’s cheaper to make foods from scratch, and it tastes better, too.
