Two people were arrested Sunday morning by the Racine County Sheriffs deputies for driving well in excess of the speed limit through the Interstate 94 construction zone.
At 8:55 a.m., a deputy clocked a vehicle traveling 110 mph in a posted 60 mph construction zone in the northbound lane on I-94 in the Village of Raymond.
The deputy spoke with the driver 41-year-old Jose L. Mendoza of Racine about his speed, and allegedly smelled the odor of intoxicants coming from Mendoza.
Mendoza reportedly refused to perform field sobriety tests and was arrested and cited for speeding.
Suggested charges of operating while impaired, reckless driving and not having insurance, as well as a bail jumping charge because Mendoza was out on bond for a previous arrest in Milwaukee County, were referred to the Racine County District Attorneys Office for review.

Two arrested as Sheriff's Office increases I-94 patrol amid safety concerns (9/1/19)
I’m shocked he didn’t have insurance. Shocked I tell you.
PING.
The drinking and the no insurance while driving at such a high speed I have NEVER done.
The speed...well I didn’t buy a Challenger to do 55!!
Such wonderful people, those who think they can do what they want in a construction zone.
DANG!
Well, fines double in work zones in some states, and you could go to prison for killing or even simply hitting a construction worker, so there is that.
Long read, but worth it.

Well, unless youre an illegal. Then laws of the US do not apply to you. Fees and fines will just be doubled on old US citizens to cover the costs of the invaders.
Is 41-year-old Jose L. Mendoza of Racine, a citizen or one of Obama’s illegals?
I NEVER drive thru WI without a really good radar detector.
Its been like that since the 70’s
(Milwaukee Wisconsin) Cops on I-41/45 gave out six tickets in a row for over 100 - like 105,107 range in hour
The first speeding ticket I got was doing 110 in a Lincoln Towncar with my learner’s permit.
I paid a 25 dollar fine.
There is nothing wrong with driving fast — I’ve driven at 130+ MPH many times.*
This prick is an a$$hole and should be remanded to jail/prison for 60+ months.
I NEVER speed in town and only ‘go over the limit’ on rare occasions.
*Autobahn (plus I live in Montana where there are LOOOOOOONG backroads with great surfaces and no traffic to be seen).
My old Supra Turbo got up to a hair below 130 a few times down Rt 3 in MA a couple of times around 3am.
Veery scary....that was around 1990 or so.
Foolish...i would never do that again.
If I recall, there is a “Bong Recreation Park” just to the west along this stretch of I-94 around Kenosha.
I would wager this has something to do with the bizarre driving behaviors in this area.
He must be a citizen. Otherwise they would have let him go
Is 41-year-old Jose Is 41-year-old Jose L. Mendoza of Racine,
a citizen or one of Obamas illegals?
My first reaction was;Determine how he got a drivers license
and show how much it’s costing taxpayers of that state.
Check the precinct list of registered voters where he resided
and see. If hes on that list, Federal crime, charge him and
those that enabled him to vote knowing he was illegal
Or one of Jorge Busho’s buddies?
