My Firefox froze up and won't shut down on my computer. This has been going on for the past hour and a half.

Select Task Manager (press Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
When the Windows Task Manager opens, select the Processes tab.
Select the entry for firefox.exe (press F on the keyboard to find it) and click End Process.
Click Yes in the "Task Manager Warning" dialog that appears.
Restart Firefox.

It is a web browser that was not made by Microsoft or Google.

I use version 68.0.2 (64-bit) on Linux Mint and have no intention of allowing it to update.

My problem with firefox started a few months ago with an update, when I download a file and that filename already exists, it Used to Append it with a Number.

Not anymore and I haven’t figured out why???

It will stop when whatever virus you picked is done downloading all of you financial information. Probably another half hour or so. Oh, nice photos of the wife by the way.

I would only add, delete your cache and cookies before restarting.

Yup. Firefox has a history of plug-ins and extensions going bad. If you can figure out which one it is and deactivate it you should be good to go.

You’re not alone....I’ll look for “how to” in more replies.

I got rid of FF several years ago when they fired one of their senior members for donating to a conservative cause. Haven’t looked back. It’s Palemoon and Flashpeak SlimJet now for me.
