My Firefox froze up and won't shut down on my computer. This has been going on for the past hour and a half.
Any thoughts?
I’m using Firefox right now and not experiencing a similar problem
Something going on with mine also but it started with Windows Live Mail....about 5 minutes ago...
Had that happen to me yesterday; it was a cruddy extension. Start Firefox in safe mode, then disable all your extensions and see if that does it for you (then you can enable them one a time until you find the culprit).
HTH!
did you get a message about a website causing the problem? That’s the only time FF freezes up on me.
I had a problem yesterday which I have never experienced before. Not sure it was Firefox but that is what was open when I tried to turn the computer off.
It simply would not turn off, not even show any indication that it was trying to close. I finally just held the on/off button until it finally closed.
When I turned it back on I just clicked “open windows normally’ and have had no more problems today. It was odd tho as like I said, never happened before.
I forget what all it was, but freezes were part of it
I appreciate the advice but I have no idea on how to do that...
.
For me it was just normally trying to refresh the FR web page. It wouldn't refresh and froze. I even tried to go into task manager to shut it down but couldn't even do that...
..
I suggest that you delete your copy and reload a new copy.
Can you click on the Menu button? That’s the thing in the right corner that looks like three horizontal lines. Also, does the very top of the Firefox window say “Not Responding” by any chance?
Whats Firefox?
Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window.
You’ll have to reboot in Flimbonian mode, which will require a squk cord for recalibration. At least 1.5 milligwebs in thickness unless you use the duxghil method.
Not sure, I just call it a thing...
.
A Clint Eastwood movie.
I thought about doing that but wouldn't that delete all my bookmarked websites? Especially the ones that I pay my bills on...
...
i was having that problem with Opera so I uninstalled and downloaded it anew. All is well.

Reboot.
Try again.
FYI the latest version of Firefox is 69.0.1 - is your copy up to date?
