I'll go first. Yes, I do think that American history can, does, and will influence culture. To use one example: The Founders and the founding still influence even to this day.

I think that history's influence is so great that this is what motivates progressives to engage in book-burning-like behavior in order to try to cover it up.(Taking down murals and monuments and so forth; acting like some books don't exist and manipulating algorithms to make other books become non-books; etc.)

These book-burning-like activities attempt to diminish the impact of actions taken and words spoken in American history, but even in a diminished capacity history has a major influence.

The Progressives have had good success in making our history disappear (civil war monuments, etc.). They know that communism has a better chance of success in the US if most Americans don’t remember what a free country looks like.

Of course history has an impact. If not for the American Revolution we would still be under England’s rule.

Don’t let the left wing’s hatred of America change our history.

“The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.” George Orwell, 1984

“Do you realize that the past, starting from yesterday, has been actually abolished?”

1984 by George Orwell
Home Literature 1984 Characters Winston Smith

“Do you realize that the past, starting from yesterday, has been actually abolished? If it survives anywhere, it’s in a few solid objects with no words attached to them, like that lump of glass there. Already we know almost literally nothing about the Revolution and the years before the Revolution.

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, and every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day-by-day and minute-by-minute. History has stopped.

Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right. I know, of course, that the past is falsified, but it would never be possible for me to prove it, even when I did the falsification myself. After the thing is done, no evidence ever remains. The only evidence is inside my own mind, and I don’t know with any certainty that any other human being shares my memories.

Just in that one instance, in my whole life, I did possess actual concrete evidence after the event – years after it.” (2.5.14, Winston to Julia)

I WOULD agree except American history is no longer taught nor is it taught correctly, ie, as it actually happened and without the smear of sjw crap and commie-Zinn lunacy all over it.

Are you asking about our true history or our revisionist history?

It used to... Now alternative realities and lack of history influence culture. Just as it was planned.

Do you think history influences culture?

The dominant mode of thought influences both. Leftardism is an eclectic mixture of two modes of thought: misintegrated worship if big giverment and disintegrated nihilism. It is overcoming the integrated mode of thought of the founders, and causing destruction of the country (both its cultural products and its history).

The Frankfurt School has been perverting authentic history for almost 100 years, while infiltrating and subverting all institutions - including seminaries - that actually teach history.

The influence is real, but mostly corrupted.
