Sen. Ted Cruz, the runner-up to Donald Trump in the bruising 2016 Republican presidential primary, revealed Thursday that he wants to someday mount another White House campaign.
Look, I hope to run again, the Texas lawmaker told The Christian Science Monitor. We came very, very close in 2016. And its the most fun Ive ever had in my life."

The citizenship status of parents only matters if the child is born outside the country. A child born in the US is a natural born citizen, barring very limited exceptions, like diplomats and invading armies.
Regardless of his place of birth, citizenship passed to him through his parents. He was a citizen at birth, a natural born citizen. Paperwork after the fact simply recognizes that. He is eligible without question.

I once met a first cousin of my father's who had the same maternal grandfather (his mother and my father's mother were sisters) and his hair pattern was exactly like my father's. But another first cousin of my father's who had a different maternal grandfather had a full head of hair.
So I think there is something to it--but there could be multiple genes involved so it may not always play out as simply as that.
